Mayman I thought as much. Drake dropped this as something to tide fans over while he finished the album. The fact that he got a #1 single out of a song like this shows how much anticipation there is for the album.

Yeah definitely. Just among my circle, this song was talked about by everyone. I'm excited for this album for sure. I think the positive reception to this one bodes well for the album performance too.

Eh, he didn't even use that picture on the official release.

Song definitely isn’t number 1 material but it’s Drake. Love the guy but this is weak

barely charting on Urban, really Drake? I mean... it hasn't been pushed to radio, no video, no catchy hook. What did you expect?

It's funny because we know as soon as he drops an actual song made for radio, both formats will take it to #1 in a matter of weeks.

I almost turned this off five seconds into Drake’s misogynistic intro. It would have been somewhat of a shame if I had, because the production is nice and SZA is terrific as always. In summary, Drake is the worst part of his own song and I’m long past ready for him to retire.

^ I have a better idea. How about you stop listening to his music so we get to stop reading your posts complaining about it? He won't be retiring anytime soon so you might as well strap in.

Let's be real, he doesn't need an adds date for radio. I'm genuinely surprised Urban has basically said no to this song. I would think Top 20 was a given based on names alone.

I'm sure by next week there probably will be 2 or 3 in the top 50 from the new album that radio will be spinning over the weekend

Mayman was this officially serviced to radio? I don't think this was. No adds date and this has not been made available for programmers on AllAccess under Cool New Music, which usually indicates whether or not something has been serviced to radio. This is essentially charting on radio without a push lol.Would you say that also applied to both "Rich Flex" & "Spin Bout U" from last year's Drake & 21 Savage's "Her Loss" album? Looking at the Wikipedia page for the "Her Loss" album, only "Ciroc Loco" has ever been listed as single & I've never seen an add date for "Rich Flex" or "Spin Bout U".

I think Rich Flex and Spin Bout U were quietly pushed to radio. You can tell they had some sort of adds date or push date without it being announced because a lot of stations added them at once. You can go back in those threads and it'll make more sense. It's become a common trend for some of the bigger rappers and their radio teams to not announce adds dates for their radio singles. You'll see it for artists like Drake, Travis Scott, and Lil Baby for their most recent albums. Not sure why this is but they're essentially getting a radio push for their songs without it being announced. For this song, I think it's just not being promoted to radio at all. A lot of stations have not added it and it's not blasting up the chart like your typical Drake single does.

I've noticed that "Fair Trade" charted 20+ weeks on multiple Billboard Urban & Rhythmic radio airplay charts despite the lack of a radio add date. But unlike "Rich Flex" & "Spin Bout U", it never reached the top 10 on any of those charts.

It never really had one huge day of adds or anything, it just charted for a while. It was huge on streaming so it makes sense.
