Oh I hope it's Faith Hill!!!! She did say back in October 2022 when Cry celebrated its 20th birthday that “for you I have a dream, and that dream is coming true in 2023.” Which couldn’t have been anything short of a teasing at a new album. 2023 came and went with not a squeak of information about that little tease, but I can only hope that the album was perhaps delayed for whatever reason, and that it might be just about ready now…Of course, June 14 is now just a short time away, but back when Cry was released, the turnaround from the title track being released as the lead to the album being released was 15 days, so I wouldn’t necessarily put it past her. If we’re about to get Faith Hill’s first new solo album of original country material in nearly 20 years, I’m gonna just about lay square eggs!!!

Lorrie Morgan Dead Girl Walking June 28, 2024 1. Hands on You 2. Dead Girl Walking 3. Me and Tequila 4. I Think It's Jesus 5. Mirror, Mirror6. Days Like These 7. What Will I Do? 8. I Think You're the Greatest 9. I Almost Called Him Baby By Mistake 10. You Send Me Interesting, I wonder if "Mirror, Mirror" is the same song that she originally released on I Walk Alone, and then re-recorded alongside all her hits on the 2016 Greatest Hits album, and then sang live on the 2017 Live album...
I bet it is, because I Walk Alone may as well not even exist it's so impossible to find nowadays, and that particular Greatest Hits project felt so cheaply made that I'm sure nobody was looking for it. I have always felt like Lorrie loved that song, since it keeps randomly showing up on all these projects, lmao. She probably wants to put it out in a full capacity for her fans, since very few of them actually own I Walk Alone to have heard the original, and more people might be looking for a new studio album rather than her re-recording her hits with horribly cheap production and aged vocals.
Unfortunately, the aged vocals aren't going to be any less of an issue now, so I highly doubt it will hold a candle to the original version on I Walk Alone... That being said, her voice was already noticeably aging in 2008 when that album was recorded, but that song was a MAJOR highlight from the project imo because it PERFECTLY fit her new voice. It honestly felt to me like the fan favorite that got away from the entire second half of her career! So it has potential to still be okay now, even if her voice is older, as long as they didn't cut corners on the mixing of this album... It's such a beautiful, introspective song that just really hits the mark coming from an artist with some maturity in their perspective.

I’m glad there’s another fan of Lorrie Morgan . I personally loved her Walk alone album! I think it’s her best work!

This feels like pure speculation on my part, but there's a strong sense that a certain superstar is gearing up to drop a new album, possibly on June 14th. Considering this, she might be cautious about avoiding overshadowing by another artist's release around the same time. It's all just a hunch for now . The scream I am going to scream if this is George Strait about to hit us with a surprise album drop.....
Edit: Disclaimer that I have no reason to think this other than the fact that it is coming from tim , lol Given what we know now about her appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show, could it be Reba? I mean, I can’t imagine them needing to do a full album rollout for Reba (like the typical 3-6 mo) thing. Her hosting spot at the ACMs would be a perfect spot to announce the new record. 👀

I can’t imagine she’d wait until the show to announce since she’s already let the cat out of the bag, so my guess is we’ll hear word sometime next week.

Eh, I feel it would be more boring releases like Post Malone's country album or Zach Bryan's album which are teased for a while now.

I don’t see any point in moving your date unless you think you have a shot at #1 and this possible mystery release would upend that. I don’t think that would be Reba in 2024?! But maybe.

Zach Bryan queefs off-key and his fans send it straight to #1 so it would probably be something to scare Carly Pearce from releasing the same week.

I can also confirm that one of the new songs on George's album is titled "To the Moon," penned by Marty Brown. For those of us who grew up with '90s country, you're likely somewhat familiar with his work.

Ugh I hope like hell it's not "Country's Cool Again" as that song belongs nowhere near radio at all imo.

If we have “Hang Tight Honey” as a newly-revealed title, I’d have to imagine that they’ll be going with that one. As the lead, it’s got a lot of potential to be a rowdy number solely based on that title. STOKED for August 23. Man, 2024 just keeps on HITTING. What a spectacular year for big releases—across genres—thus far. At this point 2025 is going to be a ghost town. Oh, and this has to be my favorite album cover from Lainey yet.

I love "Cool Again" and would welcome it as a single. Men have fun 'novelty' uptempo tracks at radio all the time and they do wonders for them, but it's rare for women to have the opportunity to deliver those to the same caliber and Lainey's in the position where she could get away with something fun and she hasn't really done that at radio yet. That said, "Hang Tight Honey" sounds like it could be in a similar vein so if that's a rowdy fast-paced song, then I'd just as easily welcome that being her next lead. She's been a bit mid-tempo heavy thus far with her single picks, but I'd love something in the realm of "Neon Diamonds" or "Hold My Halo" to kick off her next era. At any rate, excited for a new Lainey project and I'm glad they're moving on quickly.

Does anyone else besides me find it odd we are seeing new albums from both Lainey Wilson and Megan Maroney so quickly? Like…this isn’t normal imo. Or is what is happening here just more the feeling of, they are only gonna release 1-2 songs(to radio) anyways from the albums so whats the point in dragging it out? Wondering if this is going to become more of the norm going forward?

Wondering if this is going to become more of the norm going forward? Yes, it's definitely looking to become the norm and I 100% welcome it. Notice they're also the two biggest new female stars at the format currently for a reason, and it's because of smart moves like this. Spending several years between albums when the singles take almost a year to climb the airplay charts is just a lose-lose situation. I hope more women are able to follow in their footsteps and have quicker turnarounds on album eras because the days of holding people's attention for 2-3 years over a singular project are just not realistic anymore in the streaming age. Strike while the iron is hot and keep it moving. This is part of why I think Gabby Barrett's sophomore album is underperforming right now: she waited four years to release her follow-up record. The male artists have been adopting the quicker pace of releasing records and dropping fewer singles from theirs as well, so the ladies need to do the same to stay competitive.
