Does anyone else besides me find it odd we are seeing new albums from both Lainey Wilson and Megan Maroney so quickly? Like…this isn’t normal imo. Or is what is happening here just more the feeling of, they are only gonna release 1-2 songs(to radio) anyways from the albums so whats the point in dragging it out? Wondering if this is going to become more of the norm going forward? Strike while the iron is hot, and keeping anticipation an hype around them is the main thing. I do agree though, I miss back when we got full fledged eras with 4-5 singles. This new way of music leaves so many good songs as album tracks. "Lucky" was one of my favorite recent releases, and it makes me kinda sad we are already moving away from it only a year after release; when I feel like it could've been a hell of an era with two more singles (Lucky and Traitor Joe.)

I mean honestly, I feel like this is kinda how it worked back in the 80s and early 90s—people like Reba, to give a specific example, would release an album a year (and there were a couple years Reba dropped TWO albums that year, and in 1986 her name was attached to THREE releases) and only two singles tended to be released from the album before it was on to the next. Much like in 2024, it was a mentality of striking while the iron was hot. With the way streaming has changed attention spans, it’s gone back to that practice it seems like, and I selfishly welcome it if it means we get quicker turnarounds from our favs on new music. Especially if each album is only gonna be like 10 songs, like we have seen recently with pop artists like Dua Lipa and Billie Eilish with their latest albums. Nobody wants to be waiting 2-4+ years for 10 measly songs.

I think short songs (and albums) are fine if it means we'll be getting a brand new album every year from these artists. If they take more than that time then I have to question things because it should not take that long. Yeah, I know quality over quantity but there has to be an in-between too.

Tigirlily Gold - Blonde July 26th 1. Blonde (Kendra Jo Slaubaugh, Krista Jade Slaubaugh, Alex Kline, Scott Stepakoff) 2. Leroy (Nora Collins, Jessie Jo Dillon, Forest Glen Whitehead) 3. Hometown Song (Kendra Jo Slaubaugh, Krista Jade Slaubaugh, Alex Kline, Scott Stepakoff) 4. Move On (Kendra Jo Slaubaugh, Krista Jade Slaubaugh, Alex Kline, Scott Stepakoff) 5. End Up Us (Kendra Jo Slaubaugh, Krista Jade Slaubaugh, Todd Clark, Jason Cole Saenz) 6. I Tried A Ring On (Kendra Jo Slaubaugh, Krista Jade Slaubaugh, Pete Good, Josh Jenkins) 7. Stupid Prizes (Kendra Jo Slaubaugh, Krista Jade Slaubaugh, Pete Good, Josh Jenkins) 8. Shoot Tequila (Kendra Jo Slaubaugh, Krista Jade Slaubaugh, Kevin Griffin, David Mescon) 9. Only Once (Kendra Jo Slaubaugh, Krista Jade Slaubaugh, Alex Kline, Jason Cole Saenz) 10. Bleeding Love (Ryan Tedder, Jesse McCartney) Very excited they get to release an album, but at the same i’m a little disappointed since we’re really only getting 3 unheard brand new songs when it drops. (With the 4th being a cover) And thats assuming no others get released between now and july 26th. Still going to support them and buy it, but just wish there was a few more new songs included…

Curious about their cover of "Bleeding Love" and very excited to see them getting the go-ahead for their debut record, but I wish we were getting at least 12-13 songs here since... so many of these tracks are old news now. But I digress, still happy that it's happening for them. Rooting for "Ring" to eventually worm its way into the top 40 at least. 🤞

They are doing a slow rollout throughout the week for the tracks to George Strait's new album Cowboys and Dreamers. Here's what we have so far (I'll update this throughout the week):
1. Three Drinks Behind (Bill Gaither, Jeff Silvey, Kim Williams) 2. 3. To the Moon (Marty Brown, Lewis Clark) 4. MIA Down In MIA (Dean Dillon, Adam Craig) 5. 6. Calling From the Car 7. People Get Hurt Sometimes 8. Honky Tonk Hall of Fame (Tim James, Christopher Jameson Clark, Chris Stapleton) 9. 10. The Book (Dean Dillon, Jessie Dillon) 11. Rent (Monty Criswell, Bubba Strait) 12. Waymore's Blues 13. Journey of Your Life
Other possible songs yet to be announced: Cowboys and Dreamers (Jessie Dillon, Keith Gattis)
I also believe there's a song called Voicemail co-written by Brad Paisley.

I've updated the post above with the three additional tracks from George's upcoming album, which include: "Honky Tonk Hall of Fame," "Rent," and "To the Moon." That leaves three remaining tracks, with one of those being the title track.

Previous Twister movie did use a mix of new and old music from the artists and also some of them are collabs, as shown by this Shania tweet.

Any word if a single will be sent to radio? Would love to see the King back on the charts. As of now, there hasn't been any official announcement. However, I'm betting we'll hear something by this Friday once all the album tracks are revealed, probably tomorrow. I anticipate a comprehensive announcement about the album's release, including the official release date (I'm still leaning towards June 14th), happening on Friday.

Finally got to watch the acm’s and on the red carpet thing Thomas Rhett announced his new album “About A Woman” comes out on August 23rd
And he said it’s like him all over the place so yeah that “country again” thing is dead especially going off that first single

And he said it’s like him all over the place so yeah that “country again” thing is dead especially going off that first single Not surprised. It just didn't fit his brand at all, and his fanbase doesn't want that from him. He's been on a bit of a downward trend lately even despite pivoting back to poppier material. Despite being one of the bigger stars in the genre for quite a long time, he's losing his footing in the streaming aspect to a lot of the newer guys it seems.

I was admittedly wondering when I heard the final version of the song and noticed how poorly mixed all the instruments were... It's the same slightly "off" feeling I have had from all of Chuck's other productions with George. But he must be getting better at least, because at least the snippets sounded like they could have been Tony...
But I'm very confused, because the news about him working with Tony Brown again wasn't that long ago?! Like within the last 3-4 months?! Definitely recently enough to where the album was probably already entirely finished and there would have been no confusion about who the producer actually was...

I am looking forward to George's new album. So glad, we finally have a release date. Regarding who produced it, I saw this clip the other day where Tony Brown talks about producing George's new album. So not really sure what is going on since the article from Music Row mentioned Chuck Ainlay. Now I just need MCA Nashville to announce Reba's new album.

Super excited we are getting a full record from Lauren! Stoked “Shirley Temple” “Fly On The Wall”, and “Anybody But You” made it but sad “The Table” missed the cut. But happy they didn’t just put together all her songs from her EPs, add 3 news songs and call it an album though.
