Hopefully Aaron is the main producer and not Jack

I hope there's a third producer, too. What I give for her to work with Dan Nigro.

That lyric is… a bit basic from her to be highlighting like that no? Idk, the eclipse lyric was great though.

Hoping for an Aaron heavy album with Jack on the back burner, and a new producer in the mix.
Nonetheless, so excited. Taylor doesn't ever let you down.

Team JackOff all the way. Aaron is a good producer, but very sleep sleep. Y'all begging for Aaron are gonna curse us with Autumn Variations Pt. 2 and I will laugh at the ensuing outrage.

It’s a testament to Taylor’s writing that you can quite often cherry pick a lyrical line and have it be amazing on its own; most good lyric writing — including plenty of Taylor’s — shines in the context of the story its telling. I’m sure the lyrics on this will be great, I don’t think we’re going to go back to pre-folklore stuff.

I mean, it’s now been confirmed that Aaron is on TTPD, so go ahead and throw on that cardigan and pour up some pumpkin spice coffee! evermore is my favorite TS album so I’m READY for Friday.

I love Aaron, so couldn't be happier. Give me sad poetry girlie Taylor any day. I like Jack a lot, too, but I second the idea that a third new producer might breathe some new life into there sound. Dan Nigro is a pipe dream, but wow that would slay.

Dan Nigro would quite literally never after the Deja Vu/Cruel Summer drama.

I have no issues with Jack / Aaron, but after this album, I would really love to see some fresh producers come in.

I just hope with her working with the same producers that it doesn't sound too much like 'Midnights'. I love the album but I do not need a repeat. Jack has been pretty good in my opinion about making the different albums he produces sound different to each other and I hope that continues.

I mean, he is good for a song or two, but I have yet to hear a single person raving about Autumn Variations (I personally like it, but I'm an Ed stan) and Aaron did that whole album. I'm just saying, if Aaron did the whole album, that's what we are getting. So, if you love that album, I'm excited for you too! With a few exceptions, Aaron's work on Folklore and Evermore were my least favorites. Not saying they were bad by ANY stretch of the imagination, just...not as epic as Jack's work.

Now I’m curious and will have to check the wiki pages when I get a sec to see who produced each of the tracks on evermore and folklore (and whether there’s a commonality among my favourites). I don’t hate Jack as a producer the way it seems like most have been leaning. I think Midnights was fine from a production standpoint - other than it feeling a little overdone on singular ideas. I wouldn’t be upset if Jack was lead producer on most of the new album’s songs, but also wouldn’t be upset if Taylor ventured toward someone new (to her).

Aaron Dessner produced literally all of evermore except "Gold Rush," which Antonoff produced.
Seeing as I personally love evermore a lot, I'm not mad at him being on TTPD. That said, some of my favorites on folklore were Antonoff productions (My Tears Ricochet, august, This is me Trying).
Dessner produced several 3AM Edition tracks on Midnights including fan favorite emotional gut punch "Would've Could've Should've" (also The Great War and High Infidelity).
Lastly, there's a couple songs where Antonoff & Dessner produced together: Hits Different & Betty

Aaron Dessner's tracks with Taylor. Don't get me wrong, Jack Antonoff has produced some amazing stuff. I just felt he got tired and samey in Midnights
Folklore The 1 Cardigan The Last Great American Dynasty Exile (w/ Joe Alwyn) Seven Invisible String Mad Woman Epiphany Betty (w/ Joe Alwyn and Jack Antonoff) Peace Hoax
Evermore All, except with Bryce Dessner on Coney Island and Closure with BJ Burton and James McAllister, and Jack produced Gold Rush alone
Fearless (TV) You All Over Me We Were Happy
Red (TV) Better Man I Bet You Think About Me Run
Midnights Hits Different (w/ Jack Antonoff) The Great War High Infidelity Would've, Could've, Should've
Speak Now (TV) Electric Touch When Emma Falls In Love Foolish One
1989 (TV) None

The main reason I'm worried about Jack is those 1989 vault tracks felt very low-key Midnights and not the upbeat, energetic 1989 in the slightest.

I absolutely don’t want more Folkmore, at least not a whole album. Folklore was a fantastic one-off for her that I feel like Everbore proved should have stayed a one-off. For me anyways.
Despite being a total producer whore at this point, Jack+female artist still mostly delivers for me. The major exception being Midnights, where I thought his work was (aptly) extremely “mid” overall (how is that his one to finally get him the AOTY over all his gems ugh).
So with all of that said, her working with mostly a new producer would be the most promising to me here.

No wonder Evermore slid quickly in my rankings, LOL. Still a solid album, but by no means Taylor's strongest. Aaron's Red TV songs SLAYED though, wow. I would love another Run. That said, he was responsible for my least favorite Folklore tracks (and some of my least favorite Taylor songs overall). Cardigan and Peace are excellent though and Exile is a masterpiece, so there is hope. I think my issue is, despite owning several of their albums, The National have always been a very specific mood for me - like, it's raining or I am trying to fall asleep or have a flight. They have never been a band that I crave and, while Aaron brought a little extra heat for Taylor, it still sounded kinda like The National extensions.

I was such an evermore girlie for the longest time. But I think it has slid down my rankings to below folklore. I think the extra stuff from the folklore era, like the Long Pond Disney special, really help you get into the era more. I think evermore really really needed that treatment, too.
Also, I think I’ve finally accepted that folklore is just undeniable. I mean, the first *eleven songs* are excellent. Not just no skips, but, *constant high after constant high*. It’s not really until mad woman that it loses me a little, and let’s be real hoax closed the album well (albeit very somberly) but that song is in no one’s top X of folklore.
It’s funny, I usually hear people say evermore has higher highs but lower lows than folklore, but I think it’s the opposite: If you drop me anywhere in evermore, literally anywhere, I’m cool with it; it’s extraordinarily consistent. And evermore works so well if you think of it as an album going deep into different fantasy/movie worlds. She’s so submersed in her role on the album, and that, to me, lends evermore something even more compelling than folklore has.
But most of the songs on folklore are flat out stronger. Until the back half which IMO is much weaker than anything on evermore. I think I’d rather listen to anything on evermore over “mad woman”, “epiphany”, “hoax”, “the lakes” (and, sorry, “Betty” as well). Shoutout to peace for being an incredibly gem in the back half of folklore.”)

I know I mentioned it around here before but while I like 'evermore', I didn't really need it. It is basically 'Folklore' 2.0 and one of them was enough. I think a combination of the two with a max of like 16 songs would have been perfect.

Who here in the board lives in LA that can go to this and have a pre-release listen, then can report back how the new album goes?
