So there's this weird saga on YouTube that seems to have finally come to an end, with a fake account pretending to be Brit and getting concerningly popular (like... their upload of the 'Karma' MV hit 8 million views and the account had over 60k subscribers) and most people in the comments seemed to have been duped.
BUT the impostor is gone now! I'm just annoyed it took this long, and I'm wondering how tf people didn't figure it out sooner. For one; the account was registered in February, two months before 'Karma' went viral. So Brit was just randomly parked on a new YT account just waiting for things to pop off? And then it was the account that even made up the rumour of an EP of unreleased material coming on May 17th, complete with AI-generated cover art and fake tracklisting, which it then deleted once Brit decided to run with it. Then it starts uploading old songs (in poor quality) like... if she's releasing an EP of her old off-cuts why would she drip-feed songs?
The biggest red flag is the fact it scooped up and re-uploaded fan content (including a hatchet-job clean version) in its haste to capitalize on the viral moment and appear legit.

I wouldn't be surprised if that fake account was ran by an Ayesha stan tbh
