These past few weeks got me wondering how, while I don't really listen to the radio anymore, I essentially keep my listening habits akin to what radio stations do with their playlists. That led me to conceptualize my weekly charts as if I actually had a radio station, and I thought... why not, lol? Hopefully I'll have time to keep this thread updated once a week, unlike my previous attempts on having a weekly chart lol, but here it goes! If you wanna be tagged, let me know! Songs AddedTaylor Swift - Fortnight f/ Post Malone Taylor Swift - Florida!!! f/ Florence + The Machine Taylor Swift - Guilty as Sin Taylor Swift - Cassandra Taylor Swift - So High School Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso Dua Lipa - Illusion Benson Boone - Slow It Down Billie Eilish - my strange addiction Taylor's Poets Department had an album bomb of sorts, even if it came late in the tracking week (I decided to follow Saturday to Friday because odds are I'm most likely to have time to update this thread on weekends, lol). The newest singles by Dua Lipa, Sabrina Carpenter and Benson Boone were also added, while Billie Eilish gets an add for a random 2019 track (why not?) to drum up hype for her upcoming album. On Power RotationTaylor Swift - Fortnight f/ Post Malone Taylor Swift - Florida!!! f/ Florence + The Machine Twenty One Pilots - Overcompensate Twenty One Pilots - Next Semester Benson Boone - Beautiful Things Incubus - Drive Luke Hemmings - Shake Kali Uchis - telepatía TTPD gets its lead and the Florence feature on power rotation right away, joining the pilots' two released tracks for the upcoming album Clancy; plus, Luke's lead single for boy, Benson's current US Pop #1 hit, and two older tracks by Kali Uchis and... Incubus. (While I named this thread "Taiga's Top 40", you may notice that, if I actually ran a radio station, odds are it'd be an Alt-leaning Hot AC instead of Top 40, but for the sake of listing my top 40 songs for every week, you get the reason behind the title, lol.) Recurrents and PurgesGiven that this is the first week of the chart, I'll use this section to explain my criteria for what is a "recurrent", what gets "purged" and how either case can chart again (i.e. get back to "current" status): Songs are moved to recurrency once they get two consecutive weeks of negative bullets if they are below #10 (Djo's End of Beginning is losing spins for two consecutive weeks and is below #10, so if not purged, it'll likely be recurrent next week). Songs get purged if they are removed from my Spotify library at any time during the current tracking week and are not re-added by the time the chart is posted (Wallows' Your Apartment is no longer on my playlist as of tonight, so even though it got 10 spins this tracking week, it wasn't allowed to chart and would therefore be considered purged). To be reinstated as a current track, it needs to have a positive bullet for two consecutive weeks (like Doja Cat's Say So) or have a large bullet gain within the tracking week (such as Taylor Swift's hoax). Other situations may be examined case-by-case; and unlike actual radio stations, there are plenty of older songs that have current status here because I simply didn't knew them before, so they are therefore on their initial run (see Incubus' Drive as an example). TagsIt's been, what, 5 years or so since my last attempt at a weekly chart? lol I honestly have no idea as to whom may it interest anymore, but I'll tag my followers. If you want to be removed, it's fine, just tell me below! Also, if you want to be tagged, do comment! willapted33 SabrinaFan sportytheartist

I don't usually follow personal charts on here, but this chart is serving such taste! I loved seeing "October" on here, and "Sue Me" and "Eyes Wide Open" are some great Sabrina tracks. Some of the older songs on here are some cool underrated picks as well; "Telepatía," "My Strange Addiction," "I Just Wanna Shine" and especially "Walking on a Dream" are all amazing! "Austin" and "End of Beginning" are also some of my current faves; the latter of which being front-runner for my favorite song of the year so far. As someone who still watches radio charts very closely, I love the idea of conceptualizing your chart as a radio station! Thanks for the tag, this chart has me intrigued and I will definitely be following it!

Well, first off, thanks to all the listeners who tuned into our countdown last weekend! The radio deejay work feels less lonely when the audience chirps in, lol. Without further ado, let's dive in this week's list! Songs AddedTaylor Swift - I Look in People's Windows Taylor Swift - How Did It End? Current Joys - New Flesh Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe! Big Red Machine - Renegade f/ Taylor Swift Billie Eilish - all the good girls go to hell Taylor's Poets Department scores two new adds this week, while Billie Eilish (like last week) gets another older track added, sprinkled with a Paramore track my boyfriend introduced me to. (The deejay accepts requests and recommendations, btw!) We also see newcomers Chappell Roan and Current Joys, plus Taylor's feature on Aaron Dessner's and Justin Vernon's side project Big Red Machine, getting their first hits here at TAIGA-FM! On Power RotationTaylor Swift - Fortnight f/ Post Malone Twenty One Pilots - Overcompensate Twenty One Pilots - Next Semester Benson Boone - Beautiful Things Incubus - Drive Hozier - Too Sweet Luke Hemmings - Shakes Kali Uchis - telepatía As the 8th day effect settles in for the TTPD tracks, we see Fortnight remaining on power, while Florida!!! is moved to medium power. Most of the other songs from last week remain, with Hozier's Too Sweet replacing the Taylor-Florence collab. Now, before we head into the Top 40 proper, the talking heads here at the station have some announcements, since it's hard to keep a (fictitious, but still, lol) show on air: - The charts now follow Mediabase's standard formatting of "ARTIST Track f/ Features", just to keep it nicer-looking, lol. - In order to keep data consistent with the building charts I've been doing to test this model since the beginning of the year, the tracking week is now Saturday to Friday. Last week's countdown has been updated with that timeframe's data. - Last but not least, we now have a "Share" column! Since the audience of the tracks is essentially me (and occasionally my boyfriend), to simulate audience data, I chose a simple metric. "Share" takes the song's plays for the week and divide it by the number of plays across all tracks I've listened for the week, to give it in a percentage (this week's ). That also makes it easier to compare airplay for weeks with way different total streams; case in point, this week's got almost 100 streams more than last week, lol. Last week's chart has also been updated to reflect it. The Top 40 (total streams: 607)LW | TW | Artist | Song | Spins | Bullet | Share | 04 | 01 | TWENTY ONE PILOTS | Overcompensate | 23 | +11 | 3.79 | 01 | 02 | TAYLOR SWIFT | Fortnight f/ Post Malone | 16 | +3 | 2.63 | 16 | 03 | HOZIER | Too Sweet | 13 | +7 | 2.14 | 09 | 04 | BENSON BOONE | Beautiful Things | 13 | +5 | 2.14 | 03 | 05 | TWENTY ONE PILOTS | Next Semester | 13 | = | 2.14 | 08 | 06 | LUKE HEMMINGS | Shakes | 12 | +3 | 1.98 | 10 | 07 | KALI UCHIS | telepatía | 11 | +3 | 1.81 | 07 | 08 | INCUBUS | Drive | 11 | +2 | 1.81 | -- | 09 | CURRENT JOYS | New Flesh | 11 | +11 | 1.81 | -- | 10 | BIG RED MACHINE | Renegade f/ Taylor Swift | 10 | +10 | 1.65 | 05 | 11 | TAYLOR SWIFT | Guilty as Sin? | 10 | -2 | 1.65 | 02 | 12 | TAYLOR SWIFT | Florida!!! f/ Florence + The Machine | 10 | -3 | 1.65 | -- | 13 | TAYLOR SWIFT | I Look in People's Windows | 9 | +8 | 1.48 | 34 | 14 | EMPIRE OF THE SUN | We Are the People | 9 | +5 | 1.48 | 15 | 15 | BENSON BOONE | Slow It Down | 9 | +4 | 1.48 | 15 | 16 | TAYLOR SWIFT | How Did It End? | 9 | +8 | 1.48 | 27 | 17 | TAYLOR SWIFT | Cassandra | 9 | +4 | 1.48 | 22 | 18 | TAYLOR SWIFT | So High School | 9 | +3 | 1.48 | 15 | 19 | TEDDY SWIMS | Lose Control | 9 | +2 | 1.48 | 35 | 20 | EMPIRE OF THE SUN | Walking on a Dream | 8 | +4 | 1.32 | 21 | 21 | DJO | End of Beginning | 8 | +2 | 1.32 | 14 | 22 | OLIVIA RODRIGO | deja vu | 8 | +1 | 1.32 | -- | 23 | PARAMORE | Decode | 7 | +5 | 1.15 | 12 | 24 | SABRINA CARPENTER | Espresso | 7 | -1 | 1.15 | 37 | 25 | LIL NAS X | MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name) | 6 | +2 | 0.99 | 26 | 26 | DOJA CAT | Say So | 6 | +1 | 0.99 | 15 | 27 | ALESSIA CARA | October | 6 | = | 0.99 | -- | 28 | BRING ME THE HORIZON | Follow You | 6 | +5 | 0.99 | 39 | 29 | FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS | Out of My League (Chill AF) | 6 | +2 | 0.99 | 17 | 30 | LANA DEL REY | Chemtrails Over the Country Club | 6 | -1 | 0.99 | -- | 31 | CHAPPELL ROAN | Good Luck, Babe! | 5 | +5 | 0.82 | -- | 32 | BILLIE EILISH | all the good girls go to hell

RecurrentsPost Malone - Chemical (peak: #1 for 3 weeks) Beyoncé - LEVII'S JEANS f/ Post Malone (peak: #7) Beyoncé - TYRANT f/ Dolly Parton (peak: #8) PurgesDua Lipa - Training Season (peak: #6) Dua Lipa - Love Again (peak: #8) Fall Out Boy - Immortals (peak: #13) Sabrina Carpenter - Sue Me (peak: #6) Taylor Swift - hoax (peak: #13) As you may notice, purges are fairly more common than going into recurrent status, given that both my playlist and my charts are generally too volatile for a song to actually be recurrent, lol. That's not a knock on the songs that get purged, though; as you see, many of them were top 10 peaks. That concludes this week's recap! Again, I'm happy to see that y'all liked this mock radio of sorts; it takes hours to input the data in the table format (I started this post 3 hours ago, lol) due to the technical limitations, but this makes it all worth it. Hope to see you again here next week! Tagswillapted33 SabrinaFan sportytheartist

Just wanted to call into this week's show to say that the PD made an awesome pick to add "Renegade" this week lol. I still return to it a decent amount even though it unfortunately seems to be a less popular track in Taylor's discography. "All the Good Girls Go to Hell" is a great add too, that's one of my favorite Billie tracks.
Exciting to see "Walking on a Dream" make the second biggest jump on the chart and climb to top 20! Definitely rooting for that one. I was also inspired to check out "We Are the People," which I had heard of before (fun fact: there's a real life CHR that still plays both of these songs!), but I'd never listened to previously. I will admit I didn't really love it at first, as the first half sounds like he's kinda straining his voice imo. However, it turns into a really cool song in the second half, and I love the eerie/atmospheric vibe when the production shifts. "Walking on a Dream" will always be my fave though, and I also like "Aeiou" (their song from last year) more, but I could see myself returning to it (or if nothing else, I suppose I could invent my own "radio edit" which conveniently removes the first verse for me hahaha).
Super impressive you spend three hours making this, wow! Also, that's sweet that your boyfriend's listens get included in the audience stats haha.

We stumbled upon Renegade after it got on Spotify autoplay when evermore finished, back on the "an album a day" challenge the Swifties (aka my boyfriend, lol) were doing pre-TTPD release. I was marvelled at how it fitted perfectly with the album yet, as it's actually a Big Red Machine release, obviously it wasn't part of it. (Eventually, I found out who Big Red Machine were, then it all made sense, lol). It's only been a few days, and I might've just jinxed it now, but it may very well end up being one of my fave Taylor songs! Wow, does Empire of the Sun really get spins on a US Pop radio station in 2024? We stan! lol Jokes aside, I had heard of the band before, but their material started to click with me earlier this year, when one of my friends played We Are the People at one of their house parties. I wasn't even minding what was being played on at first, but when the second half kicked in, I knew I had to Shazam it so I could add to my Spotify playlist, lol. Two months later, as WATP neared its peak, I started to look for my second single of sorts, then came Walking on a Dream. By the way, thanks for the rec! I'll check AEIOU later; maybe it even gets added this week, haha. I think it'd be wise for me to include him as co-PD given he's influenced plenty of my taste in music since we started dating (see "Swift, Taylor" above, lol). To be fair, it's a two-way street, since now he also likes a handful of my favourite artists, lol.

To be fair, it's a two-way street, since now he also likes a handful of my favourite artists, lol. Oh, I'd forgotten all of these songs charting are ones you're discovering for the first time! Yeah, I love how well it fits with Evermore too. In fact, I'd say I like it a little better than a lot of the tracks on Evermore. "Long Story Short" is one of my faves from that album, and "Renegade" has a similar sound to me, which is why I enjoy it so much. Yep haha. The station kind of marches to the beat of their own drum and has some really obscure throwbacks in rotation, but I've always thought it was cool that they still play both "Walking on a Dream" and "We Are the People." That's really cool! I'd discovered them way back in 2016 when "Walking on a Dream" charted on pop radio due to being in that car commercial. I never checked anything else from them, although I did get into "Walking on a Dream" again a bit last year when "Aeiou" came out after their long hiatus from music. Maybe he could be your MD (music director), since if I understand how the two roles work together correctly, the PD has most of the control over the station, but the MD has a say in suggesting songs that the station should add lol.

Hello there, listeners! How'd your week go? Here at TAIGA-FM it was pretty busy, so let's get to our recap! Songs AddedTwenty One Pilots - Backslide Taylor Swift - Down Bad SEB - seaside_demo Alessia Cara - Sweet Dream Billie Eilish - wish you were gay Billie Eilish - idontwannabeyouanymore Empire of the Sun - Changes Dua Lipa - These Walls Majid Jordan - Waves of Blue Glass Animals - Heat Waves Dua's new album score an early add, Taylor gets another one from TTPD, and Empire of the Sun had a new single out (a few weeks ago, but still, that's news to me lol). There are also a handful of 2021 Pop radio hits added, as do a couple of Billie's older tracks. (Fun fact: Heat Waves gets added because I originally charted the iann dior remix, which was the version my CHR played, lol. Incidentally, there's been a heat wave going on since last weekend.) 10 new adds means that at least a quarter of the chart is new this week! On Power RotationTwenty One Pilots - Backslide Twenty One Pilots - Overcompensate Twenty One Pilots - Saturday Incubus - Drive Benson Boone - Beautiful Things Empire of the Sun - We Are the People Empire of the Sun - Walking on a Dream Big Red Machine - Renegade f/ Taylor Swift I intentionally buried the lede on this week's hot shot debut, huh? Backslide, the new Pilots single, was released in last week's tracking window, but while the jury was still out back then, it got added on Sunday and went straight to #1, the second topper from Clancy (and the album's not even out yet, lol). The song also name-drops Saturday, which got a nice boost to break out of recurrency and reenter at #10. Back to power is We Are the People, this time with Walking on a Dream. Taylor lead single loses steam after a fortnight, but she's still here with her feature on Renegade. The Pilots' lead single (after being overcompensated last week), Beautiful Things (new peak in spins) and Drive (new chart peak) remain on power.
