He's playing these tiny club shows. I guess he's playing it safe (think, Sexy Red situation). Both nights in Washington DC sold out like 10 minutes 9:30 Club is small alright, holds about 1,200 people. Anthem holds about 6K and he could have sold that out too.

In a rare chart moment, and honestly not sure this has ever happened, this remains at #1 on Billboard but has gone recurrent on Mediabase. Only time I remember this happening is when “You Proof” went back to #1 on Billboard after already going recurrent on Mediabase. "World On Fire" by Nate Smith spent 10 weeks at #1 earlier this year on BB while going recurrent on MB during Nate's 9th BB week.

6 weeks at #1 on Country Airplay. Officially tying Carrie's "Jesus, Take the Wheel" as the longest-running #1 debut single at the format. How incredible.

6 weeks at #1 on Country Airplay. And he’ll have a hard time having another country airplay hit. Just like Dasha. We’ve officially entered the era of Pop-like “one hit wonders.” I like Shaboozey’s album quite a bit but I don’t think gatekeepers will play anything else because of his indie base (and probably still because of his looks). I hope I’m wrong.

Though he’s technically indie, EMPIRE definitely has some gas and he has a solid and even more importantly, a dedicated team behind him which will help significantly. I definitely think he has a uphill climb, especially on Country radio, for his following releases but hope his team will invest in a more grassroots approach in regards to building genuine radio buy in.

Chevrolet is now within one million audience difference with this song on Billboard so the reign should be over next week.
