It annoys me how Hollywood "stands" by Kesha, as well as the internet, but refuses to get give her song radio play/support it. This should be much bigger.

Lyrically I think it’s a little unfriendly for radio, but otherwise, I think it’s not that jarring for pop radio. The fact it’s made it this far and she now has a distribution deal gives me hope we will see more from her on a bigger platform soon.

I actually really like this. It was jarring at first but I've grown to love how kooky it is. It evokes the sort of persona she had during Animal/Warrior but builds off of it. It's like she took that sound and evolved it into something more eccentric and off-kilter. And yeah, it's definitely her catchiest single in a while even if it's a bit unconventional and I am glad she making some inroads with it. I also agree that there is a Halloween vibe to the song. Hopefully that can also help it along.

I think she's smart enough to see this as a little stepping stone; she needs to release something instant and catchy with an immediate adds date soon (and a full video, even if it's low budget). This got her name out there in a decent way again but it might be a little too old by now for radio and streaming to surge together without some sort of viral thing happening.

After this song piqued my interest, I started looking into what she's been up to and evidently she's been back in the studio this month with the guy who produced "Joyride" (among others). I do hope that means she'll have something ready soon. Plus, if the next single can be more mainstream, and she finds greater success with it, it might help this song as a side effect. |

imo it's in her own best interest to get out a proper radio single asap while the whole katy perry dr luke thing is fresh in people's minds. although with that in mind, she also strikes me as potentially being at the point in her career where she's past trying for hits, which is totally understandable in its own right (especially with her experience being an a lister)
