Megan Moroney - "Am I Okay?"

Album is rock solid, and I’m really hoping this lunches her to the next level. Not a single skip for me. “I know you” and “Hope You’re Happy” are early standouts for me. Vince Gill does the background vocals on “Hope You’re Happy” which was a nice touch.

Absolutely obsessed with this album. I really hope they go for more than 2 singles as there’s a lot of radio potential. Aside from the pre-released tracks, the big standouts for me were the title track & “Heaven By Noon”.

Can’t wait to see Megan’s career continue to skyrocket. This era is going to be big for her!

A pretty strong improvement from her debut! It’s a bit heavy on the pre-release singles but outside of those songs ‘Heaven by Noon’ and ‘Hell of a Show’ (ik that one’s technically a pre-release single) are standouts. Hopefully they go for more than 2 singles here.

Am I Okay
Hope you’re happy
I know you

(Preferably more, as some of the pre releases still have me gagged, but we are seeing less and less singles these days.)

The standout for me is Mama I Lied. The emotion in that vocal is outstanding especially at the end.

It is a great album and Megan certainly has a brand and a successful pattern to follow with to produce consistent high quality music.
And her creative thinking and songwriting ideas keep her from sounding like a cliche.
There are some sequels of her previous work on this album some new stuff
and overall she kept her EMO COWGIRL persona intact.
Apart from the pre-released masterpieces like no caller id,26th of june,man on the moon
noah,you know me,mama i lied are standouts for me.

That is incredibly strong numbers for Megan. I guess this more so shows that the key for a successful country album is strong streaming, cause the majority of the entire album is just knocking it out of the park. And doing that with no active single from it at radio.

Really good numbers for Megan. Also very nice that she's been able to consistently chart songs off this album on Apple Music since it came out (she has 4 as of currently i think)

“Man on the Moon” is the clear standout here. That needs to be a single.

“no caller ID” and “28th of June” are also great.

I didn’t like anything else.

This is such a stellar album. Every single song is fantastic. I think I'm still team "Man on the Moon" for the radio single, but almost anything here could be good. I'm interested to see what the streaming numbers for each track are. I'll have this on repeat for awhile. One of my favorite albums of the entire (very stacked) year so far.

When Megan first signed with Arista,I thought maybe Arista would promote her successfully like they did with Carrie 

And then Arista got closed...

Probably because No Caller ID was really viral at that time and they cannot wait too much longer until the hype was gone. But I do wonder why I'm Not Pretty was still being promoted until this album is released.

Spotify numbers for first four days. Quite good despite no songs being on US Spotify chart.

Okay so I am doing my first listen right now but I wanted to put this out there: there is something about her voice that I don't like. I felt the same for her first album too. Maybe it'll grow on me.

At this point, I think the title cut is the way to go as well. "Man on the Moon" and "Indifferent" are both bops and could certainly work well at radio, but since they didn't get released when they first dropped, it makes me wonder if she'd get the most hype from the title track at this point since it's brand new.

Still wish "No Caller ID" could've been a hit because it DESERVED. I'm hopeful that maybe they can circle back to it later for single #2 or #3 potentially. 🤞

They should have pulled "I'm Not Pretty" long ago and pushed for "No Caller ID"

Right now it is so hard not to make ''No Caller ID'' sound like old news

I'm not very optimistic about Megan's radio career based on what her label did so far

But still wish the streaming of one of her songs could be a smash as huge as Austin and maybe then radio would take it on fast track

Lol nah, not with the way her numbers are going: she will be absolutely fine at radio even if the rollout is not traditional at all. The fact her album is doing this well with no meaningful radio airplay thus far for any of its singles, and doing better than all of her contemporaries in the genre (Gabby, Carly, Ashley, etc.) even with radio hits.

I feel more optimistic about her future at country radio than literally anyone else currently out there except for Lainey Wilson, and that one's just a no brainer of course. I guarantee they'll jump all over whatever they end up releasing, regardless of what it is or when, but I imagine it'll be soon since they pulled the plug on "Pretty" (finally) and the album just came out. I'd give it till the end of August for them to give something an adds date at the absolute latest.

She definitely needs to release either the title track or "Indifferent" to country radio. Those look like the two runaway favorites atp and would likely take off hard and fast.

"Indifferent" might be my favorite song on the album so I'd love for that to get pushed, but "Am I Okay?" seems to be getting attention as well so I'm down for that one as well. I agree with everyone about how her label should've dropped "I'm Not Pretty" as soon as they saw the reaction to "No Caller ID" and pushed the latter instead. Or maybe save "Indifferent" for a crossover push and push other songs to country if they're interested in that.

I’m 100% with you. I also don’t think she has one of stronger voices out there in terms of other female artists. While I have found a few songs I like from Megan, I still find her quite overrated.

This is where I sit too, I also don’t like that most of her songs sound so laid back, almost acoustic. I actually loved her debut single (such a unique twist on a love song) but otherwise she sounds like an open mic night singer playing an acoustic set before the bar closes. I don’t dislike her per se, but I just kinda don’t care about her. I guess to steal a song title, I am “indifferent.”
