This week's optional extras are among the oldest songs that have ever been played on AT40 during the Seacrest era. I remember Ryan played Salt-N-Pepa's "Push It", from 1987, as an extra during the early 2000's. They, certainly, haven't gone back that far, since.

And, yes, "Doin' It" did not chart on R&R (which Casey was using in 1996).

Nope. None of the singles from Mr. Smith made the official pop chart. However, both "Hey Lover" and "Loungin'" did manage to make it on to Rick Dees' chart.

And yet another male guest host. Are we ever going to get any females taking over? I don't think there's even been this many guest hosts that were completely male.

Also why does "Feather" keep dropping by 3?! This is the fourth time consecutively it has dropped by that number after dropping from hour 4 by 4 notches. When "Heat Waves", "Creepin'", and "Cruel Summer" dropped by three spots consecutively, they had only done so for three weeks before doing it again eventually once, but "Feather" just did it for the fourth FREAKING time in a row, it's insane! "We Can't Be Friends" fell 12 this week, which is four times the number "Feather" has fallen in four weeks. I thought this week that it would at least go down by only 1 or 2 spots so that it would slow down on its descent, but nope.

Please Please Please at #4 . Espresso is way ahead in spins this week and was even more a couple of weeks ago in which this chart is supposedly based. also LL Cool J has not had a top 40 song at Pop radio since 2004.

WVSR FM I haven't listened for weeks.. however the station I'm listening as of 9am hour are local songs, and autopilot songs in remix.. after AT40 each hour is done.. 9am supposed to air hr 4 of AT40 but somehow is delayed and started late

Technically you're both right. It peaked at #9 on the Hot 100 (actual AT40). But current AT40 has retconned its history, and uses R&R peaks instead (peaked at #24).

I believe that chart will have different optional extras, similar to what happened with this chart when Pat Monahan of Train guest hosted a few weeks back, the Hot AC optional extras had his past songs while on CHR they were replaced with more recent pop songs.

Maybe it'll make a surprise rebound this weekend. It happened with "Take You Dancing" in 2020, when it dropped to #34 from #33 and then rose 7 the week after.

It's been 10 years since the last time a Mediabase #1 hit failed to top AT40. That was "Team" by Lorde (it peaked at #2 on AT40). The reason I bring this up is due to the surprising chart moves in the Top 10 most notably "Million Dollar Baby" which should not be ranking higher than "A Bar Song" at this point. If AT40 still went by Casey Kasem's method, then "A Bar Song" should be #1 next week followed by "Million Dollar Baby" but my fear is the powers that be on AT40 will move "Million Dollar Baby" to #1 a week early and potentially screw "A Bar Song" out of it's rightful spot of #1.
