oh Otherside beating out Californication is a very nice surprise.

Didn't expect to be dominating year-end closness's bottom spot this whole time, either, but it's cool. Too bad all those cool obscurer discoveries I made in the bottom half of the playlist just left :c Concertina was epic, in the traditional sense.

OK I finally and only had time today to catch up on this rankdown. So gonna reply to the songs/rankings that stands out most to me.

100. Steal My Kisses - Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals (16): Sad to see this come in at #100 as I do really like this song. And also sad to see 5 #100s for this too. But not surprised to see me off to a really bad start already.

96. Change Your Mind - Sister Hazel (35): Oof at this song getting 4 #100s... and of course I'm the highest ranker for this. To be expected, haha.

91. Breakin' Me - Jonny Lang (28): Aww sad to see this show up so soon. This was one of my favorite new discoveries on here. Once again, I'm the highest ranker here, lol.

87. Come on Back - Keb Mo (25): Aww another song that I really enjoyed as a new discovery. Sad to see this show up so soon as well. But at least it escaped the bottom 10.

86. I Am - Train (23): Ahh I have the same comments from the last two songs to apply to this song. I really liked this song a lot. Wish this could have been ranked higher.

80. Hanginaround - Counting Crows (20): Shocked but kinda happy that I'm not the highest ranker for this song, haha. This is a really fun song that I've always enjoyed. And it's one of my favorites from Counting Crows. Wish this could have made it higher but happy that it escaped the Bottom 20.

72. Enough of Me - Melissa Etheridge (24): Dang I'm the only one to place this in their Top 40s. I feel so out of the loop here, lmao. While I do prefer some other Melissa songs over this, I do still really like this.

71. Baby - Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise (27): And another song where I'm the highest ranker. Really enjoyed this one and another one of my favorite new discoveries here.


(I know I'm speaking way too soon but I am so shook and happy that I haven't lost a Top 10 song yet (Actually my whole Top 15 is still in tact) of this Bottom 30. I know it will change in the next set).

68. Wonderful - Everclear (11): Oooh lmao I knew I was gonna jinx myself. Ahh ok I did lose something from my Top 15 which I'm sad about, with it being my #11. But wow, still so happy my Top 10 is in tact. I do love this and it's one of my favorites from Everclear.

67. Put Your Lights On - Santana f/ Everlast (86): This was far away from one of my faves from Santana.

66. Pinch Me - Barenaked Ladies (21): Aww this is a cute and enjoyable song from the Barenaked Ladies. I did think I was going to rank this higher and thought I liked it more than I remembered but sadly that wasn't the case.

63. Safety in Numbers - Joan Osborne (30): Another song I wasn't familiar with but really liked this one from Joan Osborne.

61. Razor Love - Neil Young (100): Oooh finally, so pleased to see my #100 show up now! And wow, the fact that my #100 showed up before any of the songs in my Top 10? This is so new and a huge win for me!

60. After the Rain Has Fallen - Sting (20): Oooh niceee that Doc Indie & I ranked this at the same spot! Also pleased that Az and Butterflies & Hurricanes ranked this highly as well. This was a really enjoyable song from Sting. Happy it got to the Top 60, even just barely lol.

59. You're a God - Vertical Horizon (14): Aww I do love this song but glad that this showed up before their superior song here. But this is really enjoyable and super catchy.

I still can't believe that even though this is my ~best showing in the AAA rankdowns, I'm still last by quite a margin on the rankdown closeness. But still, all of my Top 10 songs in the Top 55.... I am SHOOOK. Still got 6 Bottom 10s left but oh well, that's to be expected.

54. Crutch - Matchbox Twenty (71): Phew, so glad that this Matchbox Twenty showed up first. This song is fine but I'm not big on this and prefer a number of other songs from Matchbox Twenty.

52. You're an Ocean - Fastball (19): Not one of their best or biggest standouts but still think this is a really fun song. I thought htis would have done much worse than this.

50. Free to Go - The Folk Implosion (99): Oooh nice, very pleased to see my #99 go out now too.

49. Then the Morning Comes - Smash Mouth (9): Ahh here comes my first Top 10 loss. A little sad about that but honestly, all of my Top 10 made it to the top half which is the first ever for me. So I am over the moon and so shocked about that! And also I expected this song to be wayyy lower. So I'm glad it did better than I expected and it still made it to the Top 50.

48. Everything You Want - Vertical Horizon (1): Ahhh dangg.... I was doing the best I've ever done with my Top 10 all making it to the top half of this game. I am still so happy and excited about that. But darn, I'm so sad to lose "Everything You Want" so shortly after the Top 50. :( And for this to be my 2nd Top 10 loss, darn. :( But as singingrulebritannia mentioned, I will certainly thank Az Paynter for their ranking to bring this back up into the top half of this rankdown! Anywho, I do really love this song and always have. It's so catchy, fun to sing along to and I just love the overall feel of this. I'm happy that there's no Bottom 10 ranks for this song.

45. Things Have Changed - Bob Dylan (98): Well, at least I am also clearing out my very bottom ranked songs. Now with my #98 out, I can't complain about that. Interesting how this song has the 3rd highest SD.

42. Kryptonite - 3 Doors Down (4): Ooh yikes at this song having the highest SD. Aww I am surprised, sad and disappointed to see this show up this soon. I expected this to rank higher and do much better than this. I thought this was fairly loved, popular and was a shoo in for the Top 20, at least.

41. No Man's Woman - Sinéad O'Connor (32): Not super familiar with this song but I do really like this one. Dang, so close to getting a potential perfect ranking with this one, haha.

40. Absolutely (Story of a Girl) - Nine Days (3): Dangg, not another Top 10 loss. :( Welp, my luck has ran out and I'm back to my sucky ways in this game as usual, hahaha. Sad to see this out. But I am really happy that this was able to make it to the Top 40. This is a really fun, catchy and addicting song. It's one of those songs that I just love to blast and sing along to. I never got nor could ever get tired of it. I even wish I could have ranked this even higher, haha. Yay for no Bottom 10 rannks here.

39. The Ground Beneath Her Feet - U2 (80): Ooof, I feel bad for being the lowest ranker for this song. But this is a U2 song that just didn't really do much for me, sadly. I can get why this made it as high as it did though.

38. The Dolphin's Cry - Live (22): Lol I completely forgot about this song. But I did really like this song back when it was out and was reminded how/why I really enjoyed this once again. Decent solid ranking for this. This is probably one of my favorites from Live.

37. Deep Inside of You - Third Eye Blind (10): Aww bummer to lose yet another Top 10 song. I'm losing so many so close together all of a sudden, lol. This is a really pretty song. I do prefer a few other songs more from them but still think this is a great song, nonetheless.

36. We Haven't Turned Around - Gomez (95): Lmao it's so funny when a big favorite of mine shows up back to back with a least favorite of mine. I feel this happens quite often, haha. Sadly, I didn't care much for this.

34. The Carpet Crawlers 1999 - Genesis (90): Interesting that this song is the song with the 2nd highest SD. But I didn't care for this so I don't mind that. And am fine with this showing up.

32. Next Year - Foo Fighters (70): Aww I feel bad for being the lowest ranker for this song. But at least this did well enough to make it this high without any Bottom 30 ranks.

28 Transcendental Blues - Steve Earle (96): This was the song that I nearly forgot to rank on here. But I'm glad to remember to do so. Sadly, didn't care for this so I'm ok with this showing up now.

27. Desert Rose - Sting (15): Lmaoo as always, whenever a song I don't like shows up, a favorite of mine ends up showing up right after - or vice versa. Really enjoy this song from Sting. It's catchy and got a cool unique sound to it. This is a good spot for it though would have loved seeing this make it even higher.

26. Babylon - David Gray (17): Aww kinda surprised to see this song get the 9th highest SD. It seems pleasant and inoffensive to me. But seeing the overall rankings, it makes sense as the rankings are all over the place lol. I do think this is a lovely and really enjoyable song though.

19. Bent - Matchbox Twenty (2): Ahh dangg, I was reallly doing so well for a little while of not losing Top 10s for awhile. I was really holding out onto hope that this could have made it there but sadly no luck. :( I absolutely love this song from Matchbox Twenty. I love the production, Rob's voice throughout the song, the melody, chorus, verses and just the overall feel of the song. Just another great song I love to listen to and can never get tired of. Happy that there are no Bottom 18 ranks for this.

18. Concertina - Tori Amos (76): Oh dear, I am not surprised that I am the lowest ranker for this song. Not too crazy about this but it was fine enough. Not surprised that it did this well as her past songs have done really well here.

15. Broadway - The Goo Goo Dolls (29): I do prefer a number of other songs more from the Goo Goo Dolls, but I do still like this song well enough.

14. Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers (13): Lmaoo dang it, this song couldn't have waited to show up just one more spot so I could have gotten a perfect ranking for this? Great song from the Chili Peppers. This is up there as one of my favorites from them though I still prefer a few other songs more than this from them. Also glad this was the first of their songs to show up here too.

13. Sour Girl - Stone Temple Pilots (87): Definitely expected this to make it really high here. I thought this would have made it to the Top 10 but I'm not upset that it missed out.

12. Never Let You Go - Third Eye Blind (5): Ahh darn, sad to lose another Top 10 song, and especially another Top 5 song at that. :( Really love this song and it's amongst one of my favorites from Third Eye Blind. I just think this is a really fun song and I love the sound of it.

11. Bohemian Like You - The Dandy Warhols (91): Lmaooo dangg at all of the high rankings from #3 to #46 and then comes my lone #91 all to itself. Oops, so sorry about that. But I'm fine with this missing the Top 10, of course.

21. Spaceship - Angie Aparo
Truthfully I thought PULSE would hate this. I was ready to be the only one with a top half rank, but it even got a #1 rank. I definitely would have ranked it higher if I had heard it more often back then. Nice slot.

19. Bent - Matchbox Twenty
Awesome song. One of their best and probably most hard rocking hit of their career.

17. Leaving Town - Dexter Freebish
We didn't get it in the top 10, but I'll take this slot as a win. Little unknown band from Texas who named themselves after a Rollercoaster ride struck big on the AAA charts. This song also won the award for the John Lennon song writing contest. I didn't know that was a thing? This band's music was also a staple on MTV's 'The Real World' , which I never once watched. This is such a catchy song. I kept charting these guys with songs like "Prozac.." and "Ghosts". They released an album in 2010 titled "Shine On" of which I charted the title track. Hope they are doing ok.

16. Charm Attack - Leona Naess
Could be my second favorite First Time listen for this list. Just a great sounding Poprock wonder. She has great vocals tones.

15. Broadway - The Goo Goo Dolls
Great to see this band get high rank. I hope it continues with the other 'Dizzy Up The Girl' hits. I know I'll skyrocket their songs into my top 10.

Scott Weiland is immortal to me. Especially leaving behind all these great songs to remember him by. I might be out of Top 10's before we hit the top 10, but I love seeing all these great songs together in tonight's set.

12. Never Let You Go - Third Eye Blind
I'm hanging by a thread here. Another classic song by this band. These songs actually inspired me to go out there and buy the physical CDS.

11. Bohemian Like You - The Dandy Warhols
I thought the rest of you would get this one into the top 10. I wasn't super familiar with it back then, but it is my type of Alternative Rock. Loud and catchy.

Looks like I'm going into the final battle with only one song, but it is one of the band's best ever. So glad it made the top 10.

AM Radio - Everclear

Gotta give a shout out to my favorite Everclear song ever. This would have gotten a sure slot in my top 10. So campy and fun. That hook they chose sounds like something right off a game show. Like the Newlywed game or something. The closest I got to living this era was 'That 70's Show' but a lot of those 70's shows were still on reruns during he 80's. Everclear had another song "Volvo Driving Soccer Mom" which was just as campy and fun. I don't think it did anything on the rock charts, but I love it.
