A PLENTIFUL TOP 20

KQ/RCA's ATEEZ is on track for a #1 opening at midweek as five new titles hit the Top 10—three of them K-Pop and one Latin. Meanwhile, Warner’s Linkin Park will debut in the runner up spot with 99k.

In addition to the new releases in the Top 20 this week, Island’s Shawn Mendes is poised to do 27k, while Sony Music Nashville’s Brooks & Dunn looks to log 25k.

Shocked Linkin Park isn't higher to be honest. They've streamed decently and have a large fanbase.

^Ateez will debut at #1 and quickly fade once their sales dry up. I would expect Linkin Park to manage at least a couple of weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard 200, especially if their streaming doesn't drop too drastically. I would expect Rauw Alejandro to stick around even longer, if the same is true for him.

Aw I was hoping Linkin Park would open bigger as well. They had pretty strong first day streaming.

I imagine their global opening is going to be pretty huge (though likely still blocked Ateez).

That is very respectable for LP. Their last album in 2017 opened with 110K total. Now approaching near a decade later and without a key member of the band, doing 99K is pretty great.

No numbers for Gwen Stefani as well.

^Regarding Gwen, her last non-holiday album was released more than 8 years ago and debuting at #1 with 84k. That said, I don't think her new album has gotten much promotion, beyond a couple of pre-release singles.

MF Doom is one of the most critically acclaimed artists in hip-hop. His albums in particular, Operation: Doomsday, Madvillainy, and MM..FOOD are considered classic hip-hop albums. He passed away in 2020. His team re-released his album "MM..FOOD" with a new deluxe edition on streaming and new variants on vinyl/CD/cassette.

Taylor and Republic have really had a very dominating year in albums:

CHART FINAL: THIS IS NOT A TEASE

KQ/RCA/HELLO82's ATEEZ has summited the HITS Top 50 in its opening week, scoring the #1 spot with 175k for Golden Hour: Part.2. The K-pop group's total consists overwhelming of pure sales.

Warner's Linkin Park notches 96k in its first frame, good for #2. That sum was also driven by a large number of pure sales (see photo below).

Also debuting in the Top 5: BIGHIT/Geffen's JIN, who arrives at #4 with 70k, and Duars/Sony Latin's Rauw Alejandro, whose 68k bow secures him the #5 spot.

With Romance: Untold coming in at #7, Belift Labs/Geffen's ENHYPEN becomes the third K-pop project to bow in the Top 10. Rhymesayers' MF Doom lands in the Top 20, while CMA heroes Brooks & Dunn (B&D2/Sony Nashville) and Island pop heartthrob Shawn Mendes debut in the Top 25.

New releases this week include the surprise drop GNX by pgLang/Interscope's Kendrick Lamar (looking at a boffo bow), Verve/Republic's Wicked ST (ditto, given that the movie is already a culture-rocking phenomenon), Disney's Moana 2 ST, Lench Mob/UnitedMasters' Ice Cube and quite a few more, including some Christmas chestnuts that will be on the radio before you've picked out a Thanksgiving turkey.

Neither Gwen Stefani oo Mary J. Blige in the top 50? it's understandable that their streaming would;d lag behind others, but you'd think they'd have enough sales to crack that portion of the chart. We'll see where they fall in Luminate numbers.
