I like this, but the quality of the mp3 is very bad. It kinda reminds me of Creed.

It kinda reminds me of Creed. That scares me. The fact that they've mapped out a huge summer tour with 3 Doors Down and Breaking Benjamin makes me think they're forever ruined now.

I ran into this song while jogging to the radio on my iRiver mp3 player. I immediately pushed record and got the entire song straight from the radio and uploaded it. This is definitely typical Staind except not as whiny anymore and watered down more to Hot AC than Alternative rock. Nonetheless I still like the song. s51.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0WR79JXQHADS106GAU3XSZFQUCI'd be happy to reupload it if it when the link expires.

Thanks for the link. Great audio quality.
And maybe it's just the respective backgrounds that cause me to differentiate this and hold it in higher regard than standard 3 Doors Down fare, but it's starting to make sense that they're touring together now, unfortunately.
It's not bad, and it's better than I was expecting, but I still think I'm done buying their records. I mean unless they still have some tunes that really slam, but I doubt it at this point.

Staind is like 3 Doors Down to me in that there is nothing that special about their music really...but for some reason I always end up liking their singles. This sounds decent. Do some of his vocals sound...off though? Or something

The Creed comparsion is right on... that's fine with me, because I enjoy early '00 rock. (Not the Limp Bisket stuff, but 3DD, Creed, Fuel, ect.)
Sounds pretty mainstream too. I say top 10.

I'm missing "Price to Play" right now.
This sounds pretty off key.

This is really boring.
And yeah, it does sound off key in places.

First off, Staind is pretty decent live. I went to a concert of their's last summer and they rocked it. Aside from their songs being the same, if I heard their last cd (14 Shades of Boredom) and compared it to their live show, I'd think I was listening to two different bands.
Unfortunately, Staind is once again heading down the HAC route. There's nothing overly exciting about this song and it seems to drag on for too long. However, I can see myself liking this. It's a pleasant little poppish rock songs and will probably be about as successful as "So Far Away" was.
Like 3 Doors Down, Staind might lose any Alt/Rock radio support unless their second single is a true rock song.

This is hideous. It sounds like they slapped a random vocal track over a random instrumental track. It doesn't even sounds like it's in key.

It's okay. A little better than "Price to Play".

This is doing better than I predicted it would. (I made no prediction here, but seeing they only had one lasting hit off their last record had me believing they were fading out.)
It's a given they're good to go for Top 10 here, and they still have some life left in them (First-week sales will reveal how alive or dead they are.)
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Uh... so it's leapfrogged Green Day at Alternative, the video is now on VH1, and it's going for pop adds? Looks like they're getting a little extra push from Atlantic this time. It's okay. A little better than "Price to Play". ...and it ended up peaking at #38 on my personal chart, as opposed to #23 or so for "PTP". Interesting.

What explains this doing so well? How could this, out of the blue, leapfrog Green Day, who I believed to easily capture the next #1 after a brief stay from the Gorillaz? It seems the only place I ever hear about Staind, listen to their music, hear from the band, is on the radio. Since their "Break the Cycle" album, they have been one band toiling in relative obscurity on TV, in magazines, etc.
If you asked many alternative music connoseuirs (please check the horrible spelling of that last word), many would not know that Staind were even releasing a new song or new album. If many of you smart gentlemen and women didn't even know about this message board, you probably wouldn't even know it came out. However, I, unlike probably many of you, never hear this on my alternative or active rock station.

#4 on my AR station... I think it's been most requested a couple times too. Staind is still a big name in rock, IMO, and when they put something out, it's news in the rock community.

I can't believe this passed Green Day. I was sure that "Wake me up when september ends" would go to #1. Now it doesn't seem very likely.
