Hot 200 Debut

Evanescence makes #1 for the second straight week with “My Immortal”.  Britney Spears is coming on strong with “Toxic” at #3.  “Yeah” by Usher at #5 is also a good bet to make the top soon.  It’s in only it’s 6th week in the Top 100.  These 3 songs are expected to fight it out for the top spot over the next couple of months.  Nothing else appears on the horizon, except that I suspect "The Reason" by Hoobastank will be a massive hit when all is said and done. 

Dido’s “White Flag”, Sarah McLachlan’s “Fallen”, and “Here without You” by 3 Doors Down have been in the Top 10 for months, but they continue to be among the songs I hear the most on the radio, joined recently by “My Immortal” (and now, as I type, “Here without You” comes on the air).  Nickelback’s “Someday” and Fuel’s “Fallen” have been around for about as long as those three, and finally they reach the Top 10 after half a year on the chart.  "F**k It" by Eamon, affectionately known as "Pottymouth", is on the verge of the top 10.  Audioslave’s “Show Me How to Live” and Trapt’s “Headstrong”, after close to a year each on the chart, finally drop out of the Top 100. 

Lots of big debuts in the Top 100, but nothing extraordinary.  But watch out for a huge debut next week by Alicia Keys (“If I Ain’t Got You”), and Janet Jackson makes a big debut in the Top 200 at #144 with "I Want You".
