Commentary:
The second mass debut of this year takes place with six, with the latest from Zero 7 being the highest at #32. This week sees the first songs from Duran Duran and 311 on my Top 40. The 311 one is unusually high for a band that has had many songs released that haven't charted since the inception of my chart, but I have to give them credit for making a good cover of a good song. In addition to Zero 7, other electronica acts Air and The Postal Service continue charging up but the highest jumper goes to Damien Rice, who leaps up seven spaces into the Top 10. "100 Years" moves into #1 and Five for Fighting become the second act in the history of my chart and the first since 1999 to get a second song at #1 (their first was "Easy Tonight"). The other band is the New Radicals who had 2 #1s in 1999, "You Get What You Give" and "Someday We'll Know."
