Don't know if this is the proper forum for this topic, but if it isn't, the mods can move it.
Anyway, to start off, how about Bruce Springsteen's "My Hometown", particularly the last line when he was talking about his son. The lyrics are "last night I sat him up behind the wheel and said son, take a good look around". It sounds sort of like he's saying, "last night I suited him up for Halloween and said someday, y'could look around"
And another song, a Christian song by Rebecca St. James, from late 2000, called "Don't Worry". The lyrics go, "Don't worry about your life so you won't let go before it's gone" I thought it sounded like she was singing, "...let go, of Forrest Gump" or "...of the forest god".
How about "Peace Of Mind" by Boston. The lyrics are, "I understand about indecision, but I don't care if I get behind". I swore they were saying, "I don't care about F.B.I."
Anyone have any other misheard lyrics they'd like to add?

I thought Britney Spears's "Toxic" went:
"Oooh the taste of your lips I wanna ride Your toxic gun Slip it on my tongue"
I thought it was too dirty, but then I thought that maybe she was going the Janet Jackson route.

My friends and my brother both thought Alanis Morissette said (in "Ironic") "An old man turned and he ate."
I'm still not sure what Beyoncé says in one part of "Baby Boy." I swear to God it is "let's conceive young child." Some sites daid she says "let's conceive and angel" and most others didn't even have that part of the song, including Beyoncé's site.

I misheard Dido's lyrics to White Flag. I still hear it as "I won't poke my eyes out and surrender". It's actually, I am told, "I won't put my hands up and surrender". I just can't seem to get it right!

"I'm up against the stripper trying to take on the music, it's like a competition, it's getting really heated, i wanna get in the zone, i wanna get in the zone. If you really want my body, better stroke it to the rhytm trying to hit it Chica-Taa in a minute i'm gonna take it all, i'm gonna take it all"
"Were almost there, i'm feeling your bod and i can't explain, it's strong as hair (?) my hips are moving at a record pace, i can feel it burn, from the tip of my toes and i want it on my face, and now it's your turn, let me see what you got don't hesitate"
Britney Spears "Me Against The Music". I couldv'e sworn this song was about Britney trying to take on an orgasm.

And the chorus I thought was "It's like radiate on your wedding day!"

I know this is an older song, but in "Champagne Supernova," does anyone else hear, "Wipe that Sarah Wayne out from the sky?" The actual lyrics are "Wipe that tear away now from your eye," but man, they need to anunciate (sp?)

Here's an even older song, "Heat Of The Moment" by Asia. At the beginning of verse 2, they sing "And now you find yourself in '82". I thought they were singing, "And now you find yourself an ancient tomb". Then I was thinking "Well, maybe it's 'and now you find yourself and hate you too'." I never really did know what they were saying until I saw the lyrics in a "fake book" at the library.
Another song from 1982, "Who Can it Be Now", that had an unintelligible line. Right before they go into the chorus for a second time, they say, "Here they come, those feelings again". A few lines I came up with was, "Must we lose again?" Or "Here they come; must be loose again" (dogs?)

In "Girl Playa No. 1," I thought Angela Via sang, "All the hoes say/My Chicano baby/Have I told you that you sound so sweet?" Now I don't know what she says, but I know it's not that.

I thought Dido said that too. lol That reminds me, I thought Mandy sang, "And all the world is bent with ****," in "Senses Working Overtime." It kind of shocked me until I listened to it more carefully.

My favorite is where someone misheard "I just wanna be with you right here with you" in I Don't Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith as "I just want a beaver chew right here with you". Justin

I used never know if Gabrielle, in "Dreams," was saying "Look at me babe, I'm with you" or "Locate me babe, I'm with you."
One of my friends started singing Outkast's "Ms. Jackson" and was like "I apologize and tributize" instead of "I apologize a trillion times." This was done completely randomly and in front of like, 5 people. It was funny.

Here's one that's rather common: In the Bangles' "Manic Monday", many people I know think the last line in the second verse is, "Blame it on the train but the bus is already there". The correct lyrics are actually, "...the boss is already there", as in at the office, I imagine. Actually, neither lines really make sense. "Blame it on the train but the boss is already there"? What do those two things have to do with one another? Same with the thing about the bus.

In Justin Timberlake's "Like I Love You," I still don't know what the real lyrics are, but I always hear, "You're a f**k face." Listen for it and tell me I'm wrong! :)

Anyway, I was stunned to go to lyrics.com and find out that I was right about the first line of "Soak Up The Sun" by Sheryl Crow. I didn't think she actually said "my friend the communist..." ??? :o , but she did. Sad to see that in a re-newed feeling of patriotism in the US (since 9/11) that I would see lyrics like that.

I thought there was a rather risque line in T.A.T.U's All the Things She Said, but when I read the lyrics, I was like... whoops! I kinbda figured radio wouldn't play the line if it was the way I heard it.
I won't say which one it was, but if you read the lyrics I'm sure you can figure it out. ;)

I thought Mandy Mooore was singing, from "Candy" *so baby, come to me, show me who you are, STEP to me*
Somebody had to point it out to me LOL.... and I still think that it doesn't sound anything like* SWEET to me*.. it's more like *sweat to me* if anything.

The line "Beyoncé and Lucy Liu" in Hey Ya sounds like "Beyoncé - you snooze, you lose!"

I may have already posted this on this topic when it was in the R&R boards, but for those who missed it: A line in Vanessa Carlton's "Pretty Baby" goes: "Just the scent of you, it makes me hurt" (nice grammar!) and at first it sounded to me like she was singing "Just the scent of urine makes me hurt".

What do those two things have to do with one another? Same with the thing about the bus. I also thought it was the bus. I thought she was about to go curse out the train and then was like "oh, well, the bus is here, I might as well take that". That makes a lot more sense than the "boss" line I think. I always thought "Semi-Charmed Life" had a line in it about how "the four eyed girls could make me cry". I was kind of in love with a girl with glasses at the time, so I could relate. The line was actually: "the four right chords could make me cry".

Another Mandy Moore one: "So Call My Name, Save My Hand"
The actual lyric is the rather more generic "take my hand".
In Sheryl Crows 'SUTS' i thought the line was "My friend the communist, holds meetings in his Office'. Again, I actually think my version is better, cos it's like, he's a communist, but he has a well paid job and he bosses people around ;)
A reviewer pointed this out about Dido's new CD, and now i CANNOT listen to the song without giggling. Because of her wierd annunciation, in "See You when you're forty" she REALLY sounds like she's singing "So i'll see you when you're farty"
