I know these guys recently released an album. Does anyone know if any of their songs goes for adds sometime soon? Or if they released any previous songs before?

Ah, their debut album is simply great. The are planning on shooting a video for their first single "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" after the Nintendo Fusion tour. That song doesn't really show off the dance rock sound we hear on the album. I still love it but "Time To Dance" would've been a better way to introduce them. So yeah, if there's a song that could go for adds, it will be "I Write Sins Not Tragedies". You can hear it at their purevolume page. www.purevolume.com/panicatthedisco

Sirius Alt has been playing "But Its Better If You Do". Track #9 from their album.
They tend to play a lot of album tracks on that station like The Killers' "On Top" and Fall Out Boy's "Our Lawyer Made Us Change The Name of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued".
The video for "I Write Sins, Not Tregedies" should premiere around Janurary.

I agree, I bought the album because I loved "Time To Dance" and "Lying is the Most Fun". I'm glad I bought the album because the whole thing is great, you can listen to it all the way though, it's that great.

How overrated. Nothing really stands out on that site.

I got the cd a week ago. It's actually really good. Definitely sounds like FOB at points(especially the lead singer's voice), but the dance beats and some of the subject matter set it apart.
"The Only Difference Between..." and "Lying Is The Most Fun..." are my favorites.

If you can't wait to see the video (like me), you can download it here, if that doesn't work then you'll have to wait next week when MTV2 premieres it. and can someone edit the title of this thread since we already know what the single is? thanks.

At The Disco is the first band signed to Pete Wentz's (Fall Out Boy) Decaydance Records, a Fueled By Ramen imprint label. "...Imagine The Faint meets The Postal Service with all of the pop sensibilities of a Blink 182" - Peter Wentz. Touring with Fall Out Boy, The Starting Line, Motion City Soundtrack, and Boys Night Out this fall. That could explain some of the similarities

Okay, even if there's no confirmation except you saying so.

Okay, even if there's no confirmation except you saying so.Not to mention that "The Only Difference..." is quickly approaching the top 50.

Yeah, that'd be interesting (and cool, 'cause "TODBMASIPC" is my preferred track of the two), but "IWSNT" just Pre-RL'ed (the band showed up on TRL for about 2 minutes, followed by a 1-minute clip of the video as a non-ranked song on the show), so this is the pretty-much-official first single.

I happened to catch that too. My girlfriend called to alert me that Avenged Sevenfold were in the TRL studio again and while waiting for their second performance, I actually saw/heard PATD for the first time and was impressed. (I kinda thought I would be.)

AOLMusic is advertising their "new" song as "The Only Difference Between...", but there's a music video for "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", and that's the song they did live on Discover & Download. Hmm.
Here's what it says:
Panic! Attack Who: Panic! At the Disco Song: 'The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide Is Press...' Known For: Extra long brooding song titles and their alliance with Fall Out Boy.

LOL, I don't see why they shortened the title by one word.
"The Only Difference..." is in the top 50 now. "IWSNT", on the other hand, is down from 18 spins to 6.

That's strange. They were on Last Call with Carson Daly the other night and they did both songs. So that doesn't clear anything up lol.

Another band with brilliant song titles all across their album. That's all I can really say now; I have yet to hear any actual songs.

I saw the video for "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" on MTV2 this morning when I was getting ready for school. A strange video it was.

The video finally debuted on TRL today. I have a feeling these guys are going to blow up in 2006, that was fast.
and yikes, I didn't know these guys were so young, 3 of them are 18 and one is 19.

It's a good song, but "Lying Is The Most Fun A Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off" and "It's Time To Dance" are better

Eh..i heard 2 song by them...this and "The only difference between..." and they're very mediocre. The lead singers' voice annoys the crap out of me too. I can't see them as big as Fall Out Boy.

This band sounds so much like Fall Out Boy it is a freaking joke. Does anyone expect to believe they actually have musical credibility at age 18? Come on, what were they listening to 5 years ago, when their musical tastes were likely starting to bud? Limp Bizkit? Korn?
Okay, maybe they weren't listening to nu-metal, but 18 IS a little young to be breaking into the alternative scene. Why do I get memories of good old Chad Kroeger and Theory of a Deadman/Default when I think of Pete Wentz and this copycat band????

Blink-182, Third Eye Blind, The Counting Crows, and I guess 80s bands like The Smiths are some bands they've mentioned in their interviews that they've listented to growing up, but I know there's more.

(lol)...In all honesty, I AM 19 years old myself. So I would probably have very little credibility if I became a musician. And you know what? I'm okay with that .

I think it's a good album with catchy songs. It's not amazing or anything, but that doesn't mean you can't still like it.
The lead singer's voice does sound like FOB, but I don't think the songs sound all *that* similar. There's a sorta dance sound that's added to a few of the songs that separates it from FOB.
