So far in 2004 Norah Jones and Usher have released albums that have sold 1,000,000 plus copies in their first week.
What other singers do you think will have albums out this year that will sell 1,000,000 plus in their first week?
I think albums by the following could:
Eminem, Backstreet Boys, N'SYNC, Destiny's Child, perhaps 50 Cent and Alanis Morissette is a long shot *depending on the amount of promotion she gets I guess*.
Can you think of any more?

Eminem and 50 Cent definitely have good shots. Alanis won't do it. And I doubt BSB and NSync will even release albums.

If BSB top 1 million...well, its more likely pigs will fly I would say Eminem and 50 Cent are the obvious candidates... Maybe a surprise or two-to some extent, Usher and Norah were kind of surprising

I'm almost sure she's gonna be on the soundtrack to her summer movie "The Stepford Wives." There's rumors that the movie is part musical because the cast have singing experience (Nicole Kidman, Bette Midler, Faith Hill, etc.).

Both Faith & Tim have new albums coming out this year - Tim should be releasing the first single to his new album in May, not sure when exactly to expect Faith's. Shania won't release an album this year; don't know about the Chicks.

Eminem and 50 Cent will definetely surpass 1 million in a week easily. Backstreet Boys, N'SYNC, and Alanis Morissette won't likely, the whole boy band craze is over, and Alanis is being blown off by her label.

Eminem was about as big as you can get for the release of the Eminem Show and it didn't do it. They both have a shot, but I wouldn't absolutely count on it. Also it pains me to see a no talent like 50 cent sell that many records.

Eminem will... 50 Cent probably.
Destiny's Child maybe - but they'd have to have a really huge single out.

When is "Chinese Democracy" coming out anyway? When they find out who killed JFK. Actually, I have no idea when it's coming out, but I think it will be big when it does. Remember "Titanic". Everyone predicted doom, but it turned into the biggest movie ever.

Eminem definitely has a good chance.
Don't forget "The Eminem Show" had a short first week in release due to piracy. The second week it was out sold superior to the first.

Eminem will MOST DEFINITELY 100% sell over a million in a week.
Destiny's Child probably will too.

I don't think Eminem will necessarily have a hard time selling 1 Million+ in his first week, I know that technically do to an early release date Eminem technically only sold 284K in his first week, but the next week he sold over 1.3 Million copies. I agree with you on 50 Cent, I can't stand him, but I'm sure that he'll sell 1 Million+ his first week out, even from hype alone, God forbid he gets some talent.

Alot of people seem pretty sure DC3 will top a mill if they have a hot single...I dunno. The highest they have ever had was 700k right and that was when the group was at its peak with a groundbreaking first single.

Could say the same thing about Usher, but he just sold over 1 million, so Destiny's Child surely has a shot at it too.

I think DC3 will most likely sell 1,000,000 plus in their first week for the following reasons: - There hasn't been a new DC3 album for a few years. - In their hiatus Beyonce has become a huge solo star - Their new album will be coming out around Christmas and sales then are always high especially for new albums. The new DC3 album and Tour should also boost Beyonce's album's sales and "Dangerously In Love" will probably reach 5X Platinum.
