I need to vent about this guy. I think he is one of the worst things ever to happen to music. Not only does his own music suck but he's ruined the state of mainstream hip-hop. Like it hadn't been that bad recently anyway... his music is barely even music. It's just messy club music. Unfortunately, everyone from rappers to respectable R&B females have jumped on the Lil Jon bandwagon. I hope this guy gets washed up, and I hope it happens quickly.

Yes yes yes. I'm so sick of his songs. They all sound the same, LITERALLY. I can't tell the difference between half of his garbage. He's such a disappointment, and hopefully people will get over his shitty style soon cuz I'm about to go insane if he keeps making music. And his "YEAH!" and "ok!" shouts make me want to shoot somebody.
Lil' Jon SUCKS.

I like Lil Jon but Ii just hate how everything gets flooded by one person or genre. Everybody jumps on and take notice to the same thing at one time, not allowing anything else to break through. I like Lil Jon but that's the problem that I'm having with music right now.

I really liked "Get Low," but then all of his songs sounded exactly the same!

He's over-rated and a flash in the pan at best.

Is it true this guy has owned a record label for the last ten years?
Oh, and I also agree completely with The Rebirth Experience's post.

Come on, Lil Jon isn't that bad. It's just the people that wants to listen to that same song everyday. I like his music because it's good for clubs and I guess that's the era that everybody is in right now.

Yeah, and somehow Afroman isn't?
Anyway, I agree the thing about the bandwagon thing, two years ago it was the Neptunes, last year it was 50 Cent, now it's Lil' Jon and Kanye West. I don't mind Lil' Jon at all though, his yelling in the songs I find to be quite amusing, though I don't care for a bunch of songs that he produced, but then those bunch of songs didn't turn out to be huge hits anyway, so I don't mind.

He is the first guy to add something new to this genre of music in a very long time. He has a recognizable sound of intriguing chants and rhythms that's different from and more appealing than the rest. I hope this trend continues, and the Nelly's, Ja Rules, 50 Cents, Ludacrises, and Chingy's all fade away.

His lyrics are all about "ho back that ass up" and "bend over and touch your toes". If that's music, this artform is in a sad state of affairs.

If you're talking about Crunk, it's nothing special, a year from now we'll be overwhelmed w/ another "Lil" or currency figure.

The appeal of hip-hop is all about the beats, and Lil Jon is one of the best in that phase. He makes music that DJ's can pump in the night clubs all night long, and if people keep dancing, it works. And it does. Hip-hop had been ruined long before Lil' Jon came along. Don't blame him.

Lil' Jon is cranking out some great beats, and it seems like his songs aren't nearly as repetitive as other producers'. You know - when you can hear a beat you've never heard before and immediatley identify it.
And sure, he doesn't have the deepest lyrics, but there's always been and always will be a need to have some current songs with lyrics about sex, dancing, and partying.
I see the whole crop of rappers right now as being like hair bands from the 80's. Not a lot of depth, but it sure sounds good in a club.

Yes, Lil Jon might be making some catchy beats now, but it doesn't guarantee longevity. I prefer rappers who have been around for several years and have several albums to boast, not just the ones who snuck to the top w/ a few second rate songs.

Lil Jon is among the DUMBEST people in music. I saw him being interviewed on TRL along with Usher and Ludacris. The host was trying to ask them questions and he kept screaming stuff like "Yeah" and "ATL" and interupting her.He was barely answering the questions. He has no class at all. He's just a big retarded loser. Sure, he made a good beat... but then he went and used that same beat over and over. "Get Low", "Yeah", "Come Get Some" all have the exact same snare and kick sounds.. and the drum patterns are almost exactly the same. "Yeah" and "Get Low" almost have the exact same music. He's just an all-around dumb guy. No class whatsoever. Sure, he brought something new to rap. But his music is not real hip-hop. I wish we can go back to the 90's where we had REAL rap... not like music these days like Chingy, Nelly, Fabulous and junk like that. In the 90's, hip-hop meant something, they had messages in their songs, they were deep. Today, 90% of hip-hop songs are about drugs, girls, getting drunk, partying and junk like that. These rappers are idiots. Some of them call themselves roll models, yet they rap about all that crap. Don't they realise how much of a negative impact they have on some people?

Lil Jon irritates the heck out of me too. Not only is he a prime example of how shallow today's commercial rap lyrics are, but I also am irritated by how unbearably OBNOXIOUS his music is. I mean all it is is Lil Jon and his posse constantly YELLING all of their cliched rap chants, over equally obnxious beats. I was going crazy when people in my dorm would constantly be blasting "Get Low."
I like Ludacris though...he's funny and clever and has great taste in beats, plus I just love his voice.

This may be the most un-PC thing ever posted on this board, but I'll quote one of my friends on his take on Lil' Jon after hearing "Get Low": "This song is so bad, it almost justifies racism".
While those are not my choice of words, I agree with his take on the song. At least you can understand what most other rappers are saying. This guy just yells to background noise. there is nothing redeeming at all about him.

Because all black people do music like this? Because all black people have these viewpoints? Because all black people like music like this? Even though you're just quoting him, that's absolutely ignorant and sickening to even read. How in the hell one producer's music could make you hate an entire race, I can't even imagine.
