If Christina Agularia should make a cover of anything, I think it should be Stupid Girl from Garbage.
Although I'd probably hear it and feel the need to smite myself with a bus, it would still be interesting.

Gwen Stefani or Kelis - "Love Is A Battlefield" That would be hot or Nina Sky - anything by Lauryn Hill. There voices would work perfectly with it... especially "Ex-Factor"

I was thinking some R&B singer should cover Trisha Yearwood's "Down On My Knees". Someone could really rip that song apart. Trisha does a fine job herself, but it's just begging to be reinvented.

Here's a few I have had in my mind for a while now....
The Right Kind Of Wrong-Christina Aguilera (From Coyote Ugly)
If I Could Turn Back Time-LeAnn Rimes
Damm I Wish I Was Your Lover-Britney Spears
Let's Here It For The Boys-Hillary Duff

Don't laugh, but I think any male country singer should cover Debbie Gibson's "Foolish Beat" and Sarah McLachlan's "I Love You" and "Fallen"
I also think that Sarah Evan's should cover "She Will Be Loved" by Maroon 5

i think a cover should only be done if there is a chance it can surpass the original, or the artist can put their own spin on it. a DC cover wouldn't be bad, it would just be "not as good" so it'd be pointless. except it'd probably be a hit. yea. none of thei rvoices compare to EV's but i would like to see that song become a hit again. I love that song over 10 years later and it still sounds like it would be a huge hit.

Some of these ideas make me cringe! Enough of these covers! We have a glut of them now. If you want to bring back an old song, re-release the original.

I don't think anybody remembers the anime show 'Cowboy Bebop' but I would LOVE to see Joss Stone cover the closing song 'The Real Folk Blues'. It is sooooooooo her style.

Since Michelle Williams is the spiritual one in DC (remember, she had a gospel CD out about two years ago), it would be even better if her, Monica and Faith sing that. Beyonce` would literally upstage the whole collaboration there. All in all, good idea.

I'd like to hear a punk (or pop-punk) cover of Daniel Bedingfield's "Gotta Get Thru This".

I want Destinys Child to record a studio version of Janet's Let's Wait Awhile. They put a totally different spin on the song at the MTV Icon show and I loved it. Loved the harmonies and how each girl got to sing a part. I wouldn't mind hearing Janet put out a soft, orgasmic version of Prince's Do Me, Baby, either. It wouldn't be much of a stretch, right?

Beyoncé would start getting into it and the other two would be like "guess what beyoncé" lol.

seriously now... someone in about 15 years should cover "Trend" by Frickin' A. I know that song got major airplay some places, but I don't think it ever charted. That's an awesome song, and if someone covered it, it could be a huge hit. (i'm serious)ed it, it could be a huge hit. (i'm serious)

I would love to see a album recording of "You Shook Me All Night Long" by Shania. She did an awesome acoustic version and I would love to see Mutt stab at it again. I'm sure he would love to.

I wrote on the Taylor Dayne thread that her 1990 chartopper 'Love Will Lead You Back' was easily among my personal picks as the best Diane Warren song yet.
1990 was the best year for female vocalists I can recall, and ESPECIALLY when compared to what CHR/Pop is putting up with these days.
I would love to hear the beyond extraordinary Marie Frederikkson, the female half of the Swedish duo ROXETTE, tear into another Diane Warren masterpiece, Bad English's 1989 chartopper 'When I See You Smile'.
That is easily the best 'power ballad' I've ever heard, and swamps anything that groups noted for power ballads (such as Styx & Journey) have ever done.

i'd like to see any pop tart (Holly, Britney, Rachel, one of those) do Vanity 6's "Nasty Girl". That song COULD rock if you took out Vanity and the cheesiness.
