Someone from the "Ever the Same" thread in the pop forum made me think of this. I loooove bridges. Here are my favorite ones:
Evanescence "My Immortal"
I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone But though you're still with me I've been alone all along
Kelly Clarkson "Behind These Hazel Eyes"
Swallow me then spit me out For hating you, I blame myself Seeing you it kills me now No, I don't cry on the outside Anymore...
Kelly Clarkson "Miss Independent"
Ooh, Miss Independent walked away No time for a love that came her way She looked in the mirror and thought today "What happened to Miss No-Longer-Afraid"? It took some time for her to see How beautiful love could truley be No more talk of "Why can't that be me?" I'm so glad I finally see...
Avril Lavigne "My Happy Ending"
It's nice to know that you were there Thanks for acting like you cared And making me feel like I was the only one It's nice to know we had it all Thanks for watching as I fall And letting me know we were done
Christina Aguilera "Fighter"
How could this man I thought I knew Turn out to be unjust so cruel Could only see the good in you Pretended not to see the truth You tried to hide your lies, disguise yourself Through living in denial But in the end you'll see You won't stop me

Most all of Kelly's bridges are amazing.
Addicted, Breakaway, Because of You, Behind These Hazel Eyes, Low.
Also, Joss Stone's "Spoiled" bridge is killer.

I'm going to have a hard time picking specific examples, because most of the time, the bridge is my favorite part of a song.

I like the Golden Gate and Brooklyn bridges myself. LMAO! Kelly Clarkson's Addicted has one of the best ones that I have ever heard. I'm hooked on you I need a fix I can't take it Just one more hit I promise I can deal with it I'll handle it, quit it Then one more time then that's it Just a little bit more to get me through thisx2Walk Away is also very good: I wanna love I want a fire To feel the burn My desires I wanna man by my side Not a boy who runs and hides Are you gonna fight for me? Die for me? Live and breathe for me? Do you care for me? 'Cause if you don't then just leaveI really love a LOT of her bridges, really.

Kelly Clarkson's Addicted has one of the best ones that I have ever heard. Yeah it's pretty good! But I think Mariah is the queen of the bridges lol, not the lyrics but the melodies of her bridges....

But I think Mariah is the queen of the bridges lol, not the lyrics but the melodies of her bridges.... It's too bad a lot of her songs from TEOM don't have any. I think WBT would have been 10 x better if it had a bridge, even though it's amazing without one.

I like the Golden Gate and Brooklyn bridges myself. Hehe. Personally, I think Tom Morello has done some amazing bridges in Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave. Best Rage bridge I can think of is probably "Guerrila Radio", and for Audioslave, probably "Like A Stone", with "Your Time Has Come" and "Be Yourself" deserving honorable mentions.

I agree with almost everyone in this thread that the BTHE one is great too.

That bridge is one of my favorites, maybe my favorite. Plus it was the best part of the video. I also like the short bridge on Shanice's "When I Close My Eyes"

I'm shocked, my favorite of all Bridges, Lloyd, has not been given a shout out. The Chicago Skyway is pretty nice too, though.
OK, now that that's taken care of, I really like the bridge on John Legend's "I Can Change". Not so much for the lyrics, but for the melody and the gospel choir.

Mariah Carey is the Queen of the Bridge....no question
Songs Like: Melt Away All I've Ever Wanted Babydoll Circles CLOSE MY EYES the ever famous Always Be My Baby Prisoner Butterfly even Don't Forget About Us
But aside from Ms. Carey, i would have to say that one of the most truthful bridges ever would for me and most powerful would have to be Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek"
