Goes for adds June 19
With Corey coming off a Grammy award, I look forward to hearing new stuff from him even if its not Slipknot

Really looking forward to this.
I was never a big Slipknot fan, but Corey Taylor began to impress me considerably with his talent with Stone Sour's last album, and of course radio began to embrace them considerably with Volume III. "Vermilion Pt. I" is, in my opinion, a step in the right direction for them as a band.
I'm expecting this to hit top 15 at least at alternative without even hearing it. I'm stoked.

I am anxious for this. Hungering like some bloodthirsty cannibal, indeed I may rip this album limb from limb upon initial contact.

I was underwhelmed by the Stone Sour album.

"Bother" is one of my favorite songs of all time. Hopefully, this will be somewhat similar in that it might be on the lighter edge. I'm looking forward to this but I don't think it's gonna be nearly as big as "Bother" was.

they made a video for a new song called "Reborn" on their website. its a pretty sweet song. more on the heavier side but if you want a taste of Stone Sour, go to their website and view the video.... you may just be able to download the song too :O

It's listed as going for adds on June 20th, but it's picking up some spins already, +77 with 17 stations reporting.
I haven't heard the whole song yet, only the 30 second clip on FMQB. Judging from the good early response and the portion that I got to hear, this could chart very well. Time will tell.

wm.allaccess.com/allaccess/stonthro.wmaI don't think you guys will be disappointed. It has a faster tempo than "Bother" but is still on the lighter side (unlike "Get Inside" or "Inhale"). Based on first listens, I liked this more than all but a few songs I've heard this year.

this sounds great! I really like Corey and have a ton of respect for him. not many singers can sing and scream but he does both well.

I was never a big fan of Bother, so I figured I wouldn't like this song too much, however I've once again proved myself wrong thankfully. This should do pretty well on the charts, since its already #57 on Alternative and #30 on Active Rock and doesn't go for adds for 3 weeks.

I like this, especially the ending of the song where Corey goes to a higher register on his vocals.

I don't know...I may ultimately take this back, but when I was hearing this, I couldn't stop thinking about how much it sounded like a lost Fuel song from Sunburn.

This is surprisingly good , I really like it . I never thought I would say that about a song which features any Slipknot members. I'm glad I gave this a chance.

It's okay, but it's not as good as "Bother".

Hell this could somehow be a great song to teach kids math if this indeed it would involve some kind of equation. Imagine the headlines "Kids listen to Stone Sour to learn algebra!" Ok, I think this smoke from the nearby brush fire is really getting to my thoughts here.

I'm at least glad he isn't attempting another "Bother", but this is very mainstream sounding and has the ability to cross over, with promotion of course, which I doubt Corey would be willing to do. At this stage in his career, who knows, but I'd imagine pop would never touch anything from anyone who has even thought about the band Slipknot.
Despite the fact that many people ridicule or dismiss Slipknot as just another over-the-top metal group, I really admire Corey's songwriting skills and sincerity in his songs. For him alone, I hope this album does really well. How did Stone Sour's first album do, and on that note, how have all the Slipknot albums fared?

All studio albums have at least gone platinum, Stone Sour and Slipknot alike, up to this point.

Now, now...
(Actually, since I cared enough to look it up, its peak was really #47.)

"Bother" hit #50 on Pop.Thanks, Matt. Hmmm... Did it go for adds? Would Corey seriously promote or allow promotion of a single at pop? If so, maybe I'm wrong.

Maybe Matt knows for sure, but I don't think it was promoted at all, it just crossed over naturally. I seem to remember Corey being surprised about it, but I believe he just let the song carry on on its own.

I seem to remember Corey being surprised about it, but I believe he just let the song carry on on its own. The most extreme example (that I can think of) of a song crossing over on its own would have to be "Last Kiss" by Pearl Jam. I mean, they are a band that would never actively promote on that format (at least post-1994). How it made it to #4 there without a video or promotion is beyond me. Eddie must have been appalled.

I saw these guys back in '02. They put on an amazing show. I never really cared that much for Slipknot, but I really liked Stone Sour's debut. I've been waiting a long time for the follow-up. "Through Glass" is a great song.
