myspace.com/blaqkaudioVery electronic. I really like it. I thought this sounded like a dumb idea for a band but now that I've heard it, I want to hear more.

Apparently the songs "Love Like Winter" and "37MM" were originally meant for this side-project.

I was wondering what this band was like since I saw they were getting some airplay and am glad to know this. Damn it sucks that I'll have to wait until I get back home to Florida on Monday night to hear this. I'm out of state using a relative's computer so I'm sure they wouldn't want me blasting this around their house right now :)

This song isn't as good as "Bitter for Sweet," which was the first song on their MySpace earlier this year. So that's kind of a bummer.

Alright I'm finally able to listen to this as I'm hiding down here in the basement of my aunt and uncle's house in New York. It's kind of like I expected from the previous posts here. I like it a lot and it really does sound like a b-side or something that AFI would put on one of their newer albums.

I recently came to the realization that Blaqk Audio is more than likely the reason AFI aren't going with a 4th single from Decemberunderground. Clearly, "The Missing Frame" didn't keep the momentum going as well as I had assumed it would, so there's no telling just what "Summer Shudder" (and with the golden, season-appropriate opportunity, too) would've done, assuming it would have actually been released next. Dammit. It was such an obvious choice too, that I would have loved to hear on the radio.
If AFI had put out "Summer Shudder," then Blaqk Audio's record would've likely gotten pushed back to late 4th quarter and gotten lost in the holiday shuffle. If it would've meant giving "Summer Shudder" a fair shot, I'd have no problem at all waiting for Blaqk Audio's CD in 1st quarter 2008.

Great song. I had no idea they were associated with AFI.

Billboard.biz: AFI's side project Blaqk Audio debuts at No. 38 on the Alternative/Modern Rock chart this week with its debut single, "Stiff Kittens." The act comprises AFI members Davey Havok and Jade Puget, and will release its debut album, "CexCells," Aug. 14.

The title is a nice reference to one of the greatest bands in the history of alt-rock (if it is). Nevertheless , this sounds too much like a rip-off and comes off a little lifeless , maybe it's a grower.

This is creamy, dark-wave goodness. I really like it so far.

I heard this by accident about 6 weeks ago & it impressed me enough to find out who the artist was (and it turned out they were being interviewed on XM). It surprised me.

New song: "Semiotic Love". www.myspace.com/blaqkaudioIts more straight-forward dance than this one. I'm really excited for this album now.

Apparently there's a "Stiff Kittens" remix CD being sold only at Hot Topic. I went in there looking for it and the cashier had no idea what I was talking about, so I guess it's only at the locations that have a CD section. But I noticed they had a Blaqk Audio t-shirt which I had to buy because it kicked ass and they had only one left. Second item I've ever bought from that store for myself.
Song seems to be hitting a wall on the charts. Hopefully it's just a victim of the Foo Fighters' hype. I like both of the inaugurally released tracks about the same now, and the new album will of course be mine on Tuesday. They'll be in Detroit in September for a show I won't want to miss.

And out of nowhere it climbs back up. That's great, because I'm just starting to get into it.

This song isn't as good as "Bitter for Sweet," which was the first song on their MySpace earlier this year. So that's kind of a bummer. But it's nearly just as good...now. Of the 10 songs on the album I hadn't already heard, the one that gave me chill bumps (and still does, so far) is #10: "Cities of Night." If that and "Bitter for Sweet" are the follow-up singles, I wouldn't be more satisfied.

I'm really surprised at how well received the Blaqk Audio material has been among the children who put a wet blanket over all post-Art Of Drowning A.F.I. and dismiss it as sellout crap. Not that their opinions are valid or anything; just found it interesting.

Could be for a number of reasons. For one, Blaqk Audio is a totally different project than AFI and doesn't sound deliberately mainstream in the slightest. Further, I think those "children" are probably more angry that a band that used to be considered part of the hardcore scene completely shifted to a more electronic and poppy sound that is like night and day compared to their first few albums. Sellout is just a handy word to latch on with, I think.

But I don't believe that half of them, or maybe even 75% of them, even knew who A.F.I. were before Sing the Sorrow. They just follow along with whatever 'handy' terms they hear everyone else throw around. Sellouts. Emo. Davey Looks And Sounds Like A Girl...etc.
It's painful to go to any place where fans of A.F.I. congregate on the internet.

Hell, I'm in their fanclub and I don't even go to their fanclub message board, let alone the real one or their MySpace. Heck, that goes for any bands' message boards, fan or not.
Rest assured, my two main bosses, who don't like post-Art of Drowning AFI, don't like Blaqk Audio, either.
CexCells isn't a slam-dunk with me, so far, though, to be fair, Decemberunderground wasn't right off the bat, either. The more I sit down with it, the better it's gotten, however.

What happened to this? It stalled as soon as it went Top 20.
