So I hear this song at work every so often and for a while I thought it was The Fray until I relistened to their CD and discovered it wasn't. So now I'm trying desperately to find out who they are. It really sounds like The Fray and the chorus sounds kind of like "Time falls away, come and fall" but I know I'm probably getting those words wrong. The words are drawn out in the chorus and the tune probably sounds like "Da do da day, doooo daaaay daaaah, da do da day, duuuuuuuh deeeeeh dawwwwwh". Kind of sound it out, I can't do better than that. Any help is appreciated.

I wanna say it's Rob Thomas's "Little Wonders." Here's the vid. Sorry if this is wrong.

Believe me, I've been Googling a lot and Rob Thomas is pretty hard for me to mistake as The Fray.

Could it be a Switchfoot song?

Did you hear it on the radio recently? Like within the past week?

No, it's not. Switchfoot doesn't really sound like The Fray anyway. When I say I mistook them for The Fray, I mean the vocalist's voice. I don't know his name. So I'm looking for something with a similar voice.
I mean, last time I had to identify a song I thought it was Counting Crows and it turned out to be that "Thanksgiving Day" song, so it's probably not going to be something as obvious as Switchfoot anyway.

I'll try my best to figure this out after waking up tomorrow since I love solving this s**t. After a day like I had today though, I'm not sure if you should trust me giving you the right answer to 2+2.

The Fray's vocalist has a drawl to his voice.

Well, I tried to pay attention to the song today but I couldn't make out the verses. The chorus sounds to me like "Time is on the way" now though rather than "Time falls away". Does that help anyone?

This topic should be in the lounge or somewhere else.

Oh I'm sorry, am I bothering you? I'm sorry. I guess I figured since this is an alternative section of the forum and since this a question about a song on an alternative station, it would go together like peas in a pod, especially since we've done this a billion times and you just contributed less with that post than I just did by initiating a conversation, but if this is KILLING you, well then.

Well, I'm just recipricating what you did to me. I placed an alternative band here that you scrutinize shouldn't be here, so it was moved (understandable). I just don't want there to be a double standard. Anyway, when I did one of these song identification things, I put it in the lounge.
Your post isn't killing me if you wanted to know. I just wanted what is FAIR, the way you wanted it with me. Yeah, you contribute a lot, but that shouldn't leave you immune to the rules. Take it like a grown person now and calm down.

I have no problem leaving this here, although if I moved it to the lounge more potential people who might know the song would likely see the topic.

That was different. What I hate is the people who are obvious street teamers that are only making threads to promote their favorite (or their own) bands and have no intention of ever coming back here again and contributing to the community. What I thought I made clear at the time is that I didn't realize at first you were more than just a one-time poster, I just saw a thread that didn't follow the band-single format and looked mostly like a stream team thread and acted on instinct. And you could have made it a single thread easily before it got moved since they do have singles. You even mentioned one, if I recall. Not my fault. I didn't tell anybody to move your thread. And you say you're just getting back at me? Is that what a grown person does? What you could be doing instead is maybe helping me figure out what this damn song is so we don't have to talk about this anymore.

This is the last time I'm gonna post in this topic (hopefully). I want to make this clear; I'm not trying to get back at you, I'm trying to be fair about this.
I hope you figure out what the song is; I have no clue as to what it is.

The only thing I could find was "Time" by Supergrass. Is it that?

The only thing I could find was "Time" by Supergrass. Is it that? That seems like a very likely choice from what the description is saying.

Nope, not even close. It's a pianoesque song. It sounds like The Fray musically and vocally. And the song sounds a lot more dramatic.

It's been weeks and I still don't know what this song is and I'd still like to know. Anyone else care to take a shot at it?

hey there penance, i have no idea what song it is, but I have two ideas, both of which you may have tried but I figure it couldn't hurt
#1 go to google and type passages of what you think the lyrics are in quotes, and see if it turns up equivalent lyrics...
#2 (this one is slightly more innovative and fun!!!) call that radio station and sing it to them or describe it to them and if they play it, they should be able to tell you what it is. That's what I always do. Hope that helps. Peace.

Or I mean... I doubt that the store has this option on their company site, but maybe they have a playlist of the songs they play regularly or something. I'm not really sure what other options there are...

1. Of course I tried Google. I've been trying Google for hours. I've tried lyrics websites as well, also for hours. No luck with anything.
2. No, OfficeMax doesn't have a list of songs that the "station" plays regularly, or rather if there is, I have no idea how to find that out.

haha oh. When you said you'd heard it on an alternative radio station, office max wasn't the first thing that came to mind. This is quite a conundrum then isn't it.
