The state of Connecticut has more than three Adult Contemporary stations in the ratings other than WRCH: WEBE (in Stamford-Norwalk and Bridgeport ratings) WEZN (in Stamford-Norwalk and Bridgeport ratings) WALK (in New Haven ratings) WHUD (in Danbury ratings) WLTW (in Stamford-Norwalk ratings) WMAS (in Hartford-New Britain-Middletown ratings) WBMW (in New London ratings) J was talking about what he gets in New Haven but he just said "Connecticut" so there are more stations than he said. New York City and nearby areas are very popular for Adult Contemporary stations combined: New York City: 8.6 Nassau-Suffolk: High rating but embargoed Middlesex-Somerset-Union: 9.2 Monmouth-Ocean: 8.9 Morristown: 9.8 Sussex: 17.8 Newburgh-Middletwon: 13.4 Poughkeepsie: 8.6 Stamford-Norwalk: 14.8 Bridgeport: 24.2 Danbury: 9.9

Yes yes, that's what I meant. I get WEBE, WRCH, WEZN and WALK.
What does it mean when you said "Nassau-Suffolk: High rating but embargoed"?

The market is embargoed but Adult Contemporary is popular. WLTW must have one of the most competitors in at least one of the market ratings it appears in. It has overlap with WSUS, WOBM, WHUD, WFAS/WFAF, WALK, WEBE, WEZN, WALK, WKJY, and WNEW. Another example of this Country WXBQ Johnson City-Kingsport-Bristol which has more than double Number 2. The market ratings have nine Country stations, so WXBQ has overlap with eight Country stations, two less than WLTW. Of course the other eight Country stations have eight competitors also, and WNEW has ten competitors appearing in the same ratings as WLTW. Another example is seven Gospel stations in Fayetteville, NC. I just realized there are tons of Regional Mexican stations. There are two many markets where Regional Mexican is popular for me to find which market has the most Regional Mexican stations right now. Adult Contemporary is the most popular format in the New York City area.

OK I'll ask again. What does it mean if a market is embargoed?

"Note: This market has been placed under embargo. In select cases, an Arbitron subscriber has asked that a market's ratings be "embargoed" from public view, most likely because a nonsubscriber is using those numbers without permission or license. R&R is a licensee of Arbitron rating and is only permitted to publish those numbers which are not under embargo. We will begin publishing ratings for that market as soon as the embargo is lifted. For any further information you may need, please contact the Arbitron company (www.arbitron.com). Thank you."

to further clarify the question I had asked beforehand, does said AC stations in NYC run strictly on computer without any DJ's, traffic reports, news breaks, etc.?

I like for them to overplay a song. I just don't like them to play it for a long period of time. 6 months is too long for a song to be charting according to me. It seems like every song these days is lasting 6 months from the time it charts until the time it is finished. I like high turnover then you won't have songs being overplayed. Maybe for a few weeks or so but its not like having Matchbox 20 or 50 Cent in the top 10 with the same song for 4 months straight. If there was high turnover no one would have time to get totally burnt on a song.
