Woohoo! I'm now getting the full top 50 chart.

Today (Wednesday the 10th) is BBM day in Canada. I'll post the radio ratings for the top 5 markets in the General Radio section as soon as I get them (usually just before Xmas.)

It was so obvious BEP would hit # 1, but still I can't quite believ it? Where did this song peak in the US CHR/pop?

What is BBM?

Not sure where it peaked, around #30 I think. BBM stands for Bureau of Broadcast Measurement, the Canadian equivalent of Arbitron. They measure radio ratings. The stations in Canada got their Fall books today. I do have BBM market share results for 4 of the 5 major cities so far, but still waiting on Montreal - only got the cumes for that city. Nice to see that CHR/Pop CKOI-FM remains the #1 station in Canada for cume with 1.052 million listeners.

What's the word on Toronto?

Z103.5 stays flat @ 3.6, while FLOW dips 3.3 - 3.0.

102.1 The Edge surprises many, jumping one full share point (4.0 - 5.0) to land in 6th. I guess the kids found their new station after the demise of KISS.

EZ Rock is the #1 station in Toronto, rising an impressive 7.7 - 8.8.

CHFI continues to slide (7.4 - 7.2) What was Rogers thinking by hiring Mad Dog and Billie? 'FI was #1 for like 10 years, then they pull this stunt. This will go down as probably one of the worst moves in Canadian radio history.

CHUM-FM won the HotAC battle and came in 2nd behind EZ, with an 8.2 share (up from 7.5). The MIX tied with Z103.5 for 12th place (4.0 - 3.6).

Looking at these numbers, and the numbers 'cross Canada, it's no wonder the major radio players are getting out of programming youth friendly formats.

Any formats looking like good candidates to flip formats in the new year?

I was hoping Edge 102 would, I hate that blasted station, but I guess not.

How is Buffalo Kiss 98.5 doing? Does CKEY FM Wild 101.1 even show up?

it's weird how EZ Rock and CHUM are the 2 highest rated stations... seeing as both are actually AC or Hot AC (i find the EZ Rock station horrible since it is more then likely the same playlist as here) I'd figure that with so many choices there would be at least a good battle, well so much for that!

Christina has a nice bullet, but i'm surprised at the fact that not one but TWO songs jump ahead of it (ironically enough, both are canadian...) Kelis from 49-26 and Default rising 43-32, good to see that canadian radio isn't causing recurentitis on "Taking My Life Away"

The EZ Rock station where Bengino Man is (Timmins I think?) and the one in Toronto are programmed differently and have seperate music departments. I'm not surprised at the AC battle at the top. AC is very popular and is #1 in several markets, including Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa...

Virgo: anyone's guess as far as Toronto. From your past posts about the subject though, it sounds as though you really want a CHR/Pop station in Toronto. It's not going to happen. Not for at least a year or two, if even then.
