I have to wonder if Mediabase will now be available in some other magazine, such as "Hits," which is where R&R's album chart comes from.

Looks like the charts will be in the newspaper from now on. I imagine it'll look something like The Back Pages of R&R.
Mediabase announced today (8/1) plans to print unique, weekly airplay charts in USA Today beginning August 8. According to All Access, “Mediabase will publish a full page of information early each week, featuring in-depth charts in the following 12 formats: Mainstream Top 40, Rhythmic Top 40, Urban/Hip-Hop, Country, Modern Rock, Active Rock, Adult Rock (Triple A), Smooth Jazz, Mainstream Adult Contemporary, Hot Adult Contemporary, Latin, and an overall Canadian chart.”

Cool beans... I can afford a buck a week (or however much USA Today costs). :)

Dear R&R Reporters,
Please keep an eye out for an e-mail from me within the next 24 hours that will explain the pending changes to R&R's reporting panels due to the purchase of our company by VNU, owners of Billboard Radio Monitor and Nielsen BDS.
You can expect some short-term changes, but these are not necessarily permanent. After 33+ years of supporting the radio industry, R&R will continue to stand by you and your interests in the years to come.
We respectfully request that you continue to report your adds/playlists. The reporters website will now open on Fridays starting Aug. 4.
Feel free to contact me anytime with questions. Thank you.
Cyndee Maxwell, R&R VP/Editorial & Music Operations, 310-788-1668, cmaxwell@radioandrecords.com

Tuesday, August 8, 2006 VNU Purchase Of R&R Results In Staff Changes As is the case with most mergers, jobs were consolidated yesterday to avoid duplication, and both R&R and VNU-owned Billboard and Billboard Radio Monitor lost some longtime employees as a result of this acquisition.
At R&R, Rock Formats Editor Steven Strick, News Editor Julie Gidlow, Management/Marketing/Sales Editor Adam Jacobson and many others who worked behind the scenes were let go yesterday. Urban Editor Dana Hall will remain aboard through the transition.
On the Billboard side, longtime Nashville Bureau Chief Phyllis Stark has exited, along with Co-Exec. Editor Ken Schlager and Exec. Director/Integrated Sales & Business Development Greg Maffei.

I didn't see anything on their website.

I have to wonder if Mediabase will now be available in some other magazine, such as "Hits," which is where R&R's album chart comes from. I just discovered that FMQB now has Mediabase data available. They're showing the top 40 in each format (rolling charts) for the h1R panel ( www.fmqb.com, click "Mediabase 24/7" in the menu).
