I like this one and has plenty of potential to be a hit. I've liked just about all the songs they've released here and flopped, but that may change with this one.

This is decent. It's nice to see upbeat Pop making a comeback on CHR. I liked "Round Round" by the Sugababes as well.

Nice to see this song is reacting....it was so fresh to hear the Sugababes on the radio today. We need more upbeat pop-club songs on Mainstream radio today. I truly believe that the Babes are the best pop female band on the planet and success in the US would be well deserved.

Why do you even bother posting in the pop forum? You don't like ANY pop songs!

Good. Their first album was critically acclaimed cos they had a cooler, less cheesy sound than the other bands of the time. They were quite alternative at first. They didn't sell all that well but got a ton of radio play. Then One member, Siobhan, left and they were dropped. They replaced her with Heidi, got a new deal, came back with 'Freak Like Me' which was a REALLY hot bootleg at the time cos it mixed the Adina Howard track with a Gary Numan instrumental. That went to #1 and they've been having hits ever since. Their last 2 albums were both muliplatinum.
Chart history:
Overload: #6 New Year: #12 Run For Cover: #13 Soul Sound: #30 Freak Like Me: #1 Round Round: #1 Stronger: #7 Shape: #11 Hole In The Head: #1 Too Lost In You: #10 In The Middle: #8

Well it's in the top 50 now. Quite puzzling to me considering "Round Round" was catchier but probably didn't even sniff the top 50.

Yes, "Round Round" went for adds either in September or October of 2002.

And they have a good chance of making the Top 40 of the 4/30 chart.

I wonder what the follow-up will be. "Too Lost In You" definitely doesn't sound like much of a hit here, especially if this one doesn't end up making the Top 20. We'll see though. Maybe they'll combine albums for a US release.

I wouldn't be surprised if 'In The Middle was next, then 'Too Lost In You'.
They might re-try Round Round or Freak, as they're both included on the forthcoming US edition of 'Three', but if they flopped once....
I'm not sure whether 'In The Middle' or 'Too Lost In You' would do better, but i hope they try 'Too Lost' simply cos it's the better song.

Maybe they'll combine albums for a US release. They did combine the releases. Here's the tracklisting: 1. Hole In The Head 2. Whatever Makes You Happy 3. Freak Like Me 4. Situation's Heavy 5. Million Different Ways 6. Stronger 7. Twister 8. Conversation's Over 9. In The Middle 10. Too Lost In You 11. Nasty Ghetto 12. Round And Round 13. Sometimes 14. Maya

I think "Round Round" has the best shot at being a hit, but like you said, if it flopped once, it could be a bad idea. If the label pushed it though, I'm sure it could be a hit the second time around. I definitely don't think "Freak Like Me" should be re-released though. The US is too familiar with the original and on top of that, the song has that "different" sound. I'm not sure whether 'In The Middle' or 'Too Lost In You' would do better, but i hope they try 'Too Lost' simply cos it's the better song. I agree.

They'd probably need a new 'Too Lost' video, as the original is full of clips from 'Love Actually' which has long since been and gone at the box office.....
I'm nearly positive they'll do 'In The Middle'. It's had far better airplay worldwide than 'Too Lost' and I think a better peak position in most places (Though to be fair it was released at a less competitive time of year, Too Lost being a Christmas single in most countries). Also, that way they can have two upbeat numbers then a ballad, which is the general way new acts are broken.

I'm sorry but this song is way too bland. It needs some more pizzazz. It is just so monotone, ordinary and 'bleh.'
