Avril by far. "DTM" is a great song, maybe even my favorite single by her, period. Meanwhile, I don't even like the other 2 songs.

I'm the opposite of Jersey Boy. I don't like "Don't Tell Me" and am not choosing between the other two.

"Are You Happy Now?" is the most impressive of the three.
All three lead singles are actually pretty impressive in my opinion. "Don't Tell Me" is a punchy lead for Avril, while "White Houses" display's Vanessa's lyrical maturity.
However, the first time I heard "Are You Happy Now?", I was like, "WOW, is this Michelle?". It sounds like something that would have hit #1 on Alternative seven years ago. Love the edgier, more electric side of Michelle. Too bad the rest of "Hotel Paper" reflected more of the atmosphere from "The Spirit Room". It was still a great sophomore album, but I hope Michelle displays just a bit more diversity on her third release.
Are You Happy Now?: A White Houses: B Don't Tell Me: B-
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Definitely Are You Happy Now. Avril's was just alright, and Vanessa's utterly sucks.

Vanessa definitely The only one that has proven that she is a very unique and talented songwriter. Lyrically and musically she is just on another level than these other girls. I dont even think they can be compared. Its like comparing U2 to Simple Plan.

I love them all, but I went with Michelle. She spent a total of 8 weeks atop my chart, and finished the year at number 2, for 2003. Avril's "Don't Tell Me" peaked at #4, but should've gone higher. "White Houses" peaked at #2. So, in order: "Are You Happy Now?" "White Houses" "Don't Tell Me"

It's a toss-up between Avril and Michelle. Gave it to Avril though.

My vote is for "Are You Happy Now" by Michelle Branch. Very Alanis Morissette-ish. I really liked that. The first time I heard it, I thought it was Alanis Morissette. Then they announced that it's by Michelle Branch. I was blown away.
