I wonder if Skye wears Acuvue lenses? ??? I remember seeing those Lillix ads in magazines. I've never seen the commercials though. :(

The bullet for "Tangled Up" is dropping and it looks like it might peak at #36. Not bad. Tonya Mitchell-like success! :)
Her album "Noise From The Basement" debuted at #124. She's signing at some Wal-Marts and MTV has embraced her "Tangled Up In Me" video.
-- USA Today reviewed the album. Although I agree with them on the Skye's songs, I think they're rather unfair at picking at her age and photos. Skye's Blender photos were conservative and most teenage girls dress similarly. C'mon, she's wearing a Hot Topic-like spike belt and skirt -- so what? In the other pics, she's completely covered up. She's not ripping her clothes off.
Review: Skye Sweetnam, Noise From the Basement (* ½) Not since Britney Spears pranced around MTV in a schoolgirl uniform has a teen singer been as cannily poised to fuel jailbait fantasies as Sweetnam, a pouty-lipped 16-year-old who already has been photographed for at least one magazine, wielding a spiked belt. In truth, Sweetnam's punk-flavored bubblegum pop seems inspired more by her fellow Canadian Avril Lavigne, but the younger singer's attempts at projecting independent-minded sass are foiled on crassly formulaic singles such as Billy S. and Tangled Up in Me, which no one will mistake for a similarly titled Bob Dylan song. Ah, well. She could always launch a career modeling fashion accessories. —Gardner
-- I'm not a big enough fan to start an "Era" for her album.

San Diego loves this! Eric heard it twice today. :) Catchy lil less-than-three-minute ditty!
"Tangled Up In Me" is still maintaining its bullet, although it's less than +100. It's struggling to stay in the Top 40 as a pack of songs are ready to jump over it. It also has the smallest audience impressions in the Top 40 too. :(

Her singing and speaking voice sound alike. On Rick Dees she mentioned her infatuation with a particular kind of marking pens.

Hehe. I heard that too. She says she can't help marking things up. (With indelible pens, too. Geez.)

She's not too bad live, I saw her open for Britney a few times and she is really energetic, and she sings live. I am surprised at how long this has kept a bullet, even though it is low. I think this has already peaked and will float for another week before losing it's bullet.

This song won't die! Go Skye! It keeps maintaining its small bullet. Radio is 'tangled' up in Skye!

I never heard the song on the radio here in Seattle, but I caught the music video on MTV and I think I like the song. Too bad it didn't have quite the success on Pop radio that it deserves.
Also, I think her voice sounds very similar to Fefe Dobson. Don't know why, though.

How long has this song been in the Top 50? It seems like it has been hanging their for quite some time.

Debuted on the 8/20 chart. So the 10/29 chart is its 11th week on.

It's strange what this song is doing. Her bullet (whether up or down in spins) simply refuses to break the 100 mark.
It's been going on like this for months now.

How often does a song spend three consecutive weeks below its peak position and then reach a new peak?

How often does a song spend three consecutive weeks below its peak position and then reach a new peak? "Swear It Again" by Westlife did something along the lines of 24*-26*-26*-28*-24*-21*-22-22 Splender sort of did it with "I Think God Can Explain", which went 31*-31*-30*-31*-31*-30*-27*

This song has been a hit, in its own respect. It should be in the top 100 songs of 2004, just for holding its own, even if it's only #100. I think Skye's earned it. :)

Oh well, Skye proved everyone wrong! She scored a long-lasting Top 35 hit. Can't wait for single deux!
