"Stripped" and "Breakaway" are the sophomore attempts from bothChristina Aguilera and Kelly Clarkson, respectively. Their debut efforts managed to hit #1, but these missed...some would argue that it should be the other way around.
Anyway, which album do you prefer?

I don't know "Breakaway" well enough to vote. But I can agree that the 2nd albums are the ones more deserving of #1 based on what i know.

Breakaway is a much more focused album, and the vocals are easier on the ears.

I'm going with "Stripped". It wasn't a difficult decision. While I like "Breakaway" A LOT, I love "Stripped" to pieces. "Breakaway" has 'Gone', which I don't like...meanwhile, I love every song on "Stripped". And Kelly and her label were cheap, only giving 11 songs and a bonus remix.

They are both my favorite artists, but "Stripped" is the superior album!

This is a hard choice but I liked almost every song off of Stripped so I pick Stripped.

Stripped - more diverse, creative and artistic. There's a few annoying songs with overblown vocals but Kelly's album has a few totally mediocre songs and is more a collection of songs than an artistic album.

While Stripped is not a bad album at all, I pick Breakaway.

I have only heard the singles from Stripped... so I can't really vote. But Breakaway is a good/okay album for me. I dislike the tracks You Found Me, I Hate Myself For Losing You, and I don't care much for the acoustic of BD. SUBG, Walk Away, and Gone are the only great tracks on there for me. The rest are good, though.

ahh omg...These are my women. I can't choose. I love them both so much. uhhh I think I'm going to pick Kelly primarily because her's is newer and I'm more in love with it right now than Stripped. That's the only way I could vote.

I prefer Kelly's debut over the sophomore, while the opposite is true for Christina.
So Christina wins easily for me.

A lot of people like Kelly here and like the album -- but I'm guessing some people are prolly voting for "Breakaway" because they dislike Christina and her over-the-top fabulocity... Kelly's good but she doesn't really melt my butter... however, I think she's middle-of-the-road enough that a number of people would prefer her over Christina (even if they're not into either album).

Despite thinking Christina is nothing but a perma-tan walrus void of any shred of intelligence, I do enjoy her singles, and I own Stripped. As a whole, the album is alright, but its quite jumbly. I think Breakaway flows easier.

Christina has written compelling songs about self-esteem and empowerment, spoken about domestic violence, raised money for women's shelters, used her art to promote tolerance for gay people, and did a great job promoting voter education. Yeah, too bad she's void of any shred of intelligence.

this board really likes Kelly because i thought Stripped would win this hands down. i'm totally shocked that its losing. Im not shocked-this board seems to adore Kelly and while Christina has more fans here than I thought, I would still say its not an entirely positive board for Christina haha. This was hard for me because...ok you guys have given arguments against and for the albums. I like that Breakaway is focused and the vocals are amazing. I disagree about the vocals being bad on Stripped-Stripped was the album that made me really understand that Christina can sing and she can sing ANYTHING-any note, loud, soft, any emotion. Its an incredibly impressive vocal performance. People say Stripped is just jumbled without focus-I agree and disagree. It is very varied in sound. But part of what made me like it is that despite so many different sounds, it flowed to me. The interludes and connections between the songs somehow pulled it together perfectly for me...the entire album seemed unified despite the vastly different styles of music and that impressed the hell out of me as well. I ended up voting for Christina just because I do think its more creative and unique-as well as a much more difficult album to create and piece together. I can listen to it and hear a challenge and even though I adore Breakaway, it does not sound like a strikingly challenging album or anything. Its pretty much straightforward pop rock (except for the vocals, which are amazing!)

Yeah, too bad she's void of any shred of intelligence. Writing songs about self-empowerment and contributing to good causes does not an intelligent person make. Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears have both made similar contributions to society, and Lil Kim has written countless woman-empowering songs. are you gonna call them intelligent as well? The worst thing is that Christina clearly tries her damndest to look and sound like a groundbreaker...but she doesn't quite pull it off.

Well, the point is that she's done those things in a smart way IMO. No one can accuse her of being a publicist's or producer's puppet. The girl's got a brain and she uses it. Having seen Fahrenheit 9/11 and Newlyweds, Christina looks like a genius compared to those two hairdo-heads.
