Now that I think about it, "Who Will Save Your Soul" is a JAM! I love how she sings the verses and the the guitar is great. I miss Jewel.

Out of these, Mariah and Alanis are my two favorite easily. It was close, but I went with "Ironic".

REALLY tough poll.
8. Celine Dion - Because You Loved Me: We sung this for our elementary graduation in 1999. No thanks. 7. Sheryl Crow - If It Makes You Happy: I remember missing Sheryl's softer voice, but I like the song, just not too much. 6. Alanis Morissette - Ironic: That era lasted sooo long. I like the video. 5. Jewel - Who Will Save Your Soul?: 11 years ago? Geez. Great song. 4. Mariah Carey - Always Be My Baby: When I really, really, really loved Mariah. :) 3. Toni Braxton - Unbreak My Heart: Toni at her best. Every aunt of mine loved this song. Great memories. 2. Mary J. Blige - Not Goin' Cry: One of Mary's best. Almost chose this one. 1. Aaliyah - One In A Million: My vote! Why: It was THE song of 1996 for us back in elementary. And I still listen to that song every week.

It was hard to choose between Alanis and Sheryl, but I chose Sheryl.
I don't even know that Mariah song, but I try not to.

From that list, I like Mary, Toni, and Celine's the most. "Ironic" is pretty good too.

These are great. But I think Mary and Toni specifically SEND ME BACK to that time period as those songs were very big personally, but also in my personal networks.

I couldn't choose because all of these were strong hits... I am surprised Donna Lewis - "I love you always forever" and Tracy Chapman - "Give me one reason" weren't on this list
