Has anyone else noticed that Mariah's vocals on this song and "Without You" are different? I can't discribe it but her voice just seems different on the these two particular tracks moreso on AIWFCIY.

I believe Paula Abdul was notorious for using a backup singer's vocals and mixed them with her own voice to create a totally different sound. She supposedly did it in earlier songs like "Straight Up."

She specifcally did it on AIWFCIY because it was a very popular recording technique during the 50's and 60's. Many songs contained a lead vocal dubbed with a backing vocal to enhance the quality of the vocal.
