Best produced track on the Phil Spector Christmas album. The modulation really keeps the song flowing well and keeps it interesting. Ronnie's vocal is very tasteful.

I hated this growing up. The song is older than I am, but it was always in the holiday rotation at pop stations until (I guess) sometime in the 80s. It got old.
Now that it's been a decade or so since I've heard it repeatedly I've grown to like it. Reminds me of Martha & The Vandellas, and I think the sound of this song had an influence on the Supremes.

This has become the most popular version of the song, even eclipsing composer Leroy Anderson's classic instrumental. Those "ring-a-ling-a-ling, ding-dong-ding" parts.

^That's a perfectly lovely interpretive dance of the song. Wonder why the "giddy yap..." lyrics weren't used for this version.

Yay for Ronnie in the top 10. I interviewed her a few years back- she was a hoot. Got to see her perform live, too (not a Christmas show, though, so no "Sleigh Ride").
