I just love this song. I've listened to it my whole life, but especially in recent years I've fallen in love with it. The intro is gorgeous, his vocals, the melody overall is incredible. And towards the end of the song when he sings "I'll give it to someone... I'll give it to someone... la la... la la la la la" that synthy sound in the background ❤️ Hope it reaches #1 this year!  |

For anybody who lived during the 80s and can remember, how big was this when it originally came out stateside (and throughout the rest of the 80s)? This is my favorite Christmas song ever so I'm curious. Was it like how "Santa Tell Me" is right now?

I've been listening to the Pudding Mix (which isn't a remix, it just seems to be an extended 7-minute version) quite a bit this year after discovering it. Honestly, it's probably going to be the version I listen to from now on. Even though the extra length is mainly just a repetition of the chorus, I think it sounds great!
