This was the theme song from The Grinch soundtrack. I like the song, but I feel as if Faith is treating this song like another one of her love ballads. It could've been more sentimental with another singer who could convey the yearning and longing for X-mas better.

One of my Christmas songs. I kind of think it's gets overlooked among the more recent Christmas releases, but it always gets a lot of plays from me.

Mariah did a great job writing this, and Faith did a great job singing it. Definitely a favorite.

Yeah, isn't this the song Mariah co-wrote that Tommy Mottola didn't want to be released by her out of spite?

I'm glad Faith got it. She killed this song in a way no one else could.

This is one of my favorites because of my experience with Christmas. For several years after my parents divorced, it was difficult to feel the magic of Christmas, but since I've been able to reconnect to what Christmas means... so this song has a very sentimental sincerity for me.

I saw The Grinch recently, and was unaware that James Horner and Will Jennings had composed "Christmas, Why Can't I Find You?" This is the original take on the song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECG0RTp8OTMI'm guessing, then, that Mimi Carey added lyrics and such to flesh the track out to a lengthier version.

This is still one of my favourite original Christmas songs. Too bad it didn't appear on Faith's album, but that probably would've been a big copyright headache to figure that out. I still hear it on the radio every Christmas season.

Does the Grinch soundtrack rack up any sales any longer? Faith Hill's holiday album was released eight years after the movie/soundtrack release.
Anyhow, in a situation like Whitney Houston and "Do You Hear What I Hear," that track was recorded for a charity album, and on a different label, so it was understandable why it didn't appear on the album.

Great song. I would love if Mariah were to record this for her next Christmas album.

I've always wondered if there was a mariah demo version out there somewhere. Because the way Faith sings this it sounds like she's mimicking mariah.

I just found out today via Wikipedia that Mariah had a hand in writing this, and recorded it but it was never released, which is weird because I'm pretty sure I've read the wiki on this song before (maybe I forgot).
But yeah, I'd love to hear Mariah's version (with her vocals from back in the day of course). This is one of my favorite Christmas songs and I love Faith's voice though. She did an excellent job on this.

This has gotten a bit lost in the streaming era. This used to chart well on Holiday Songs/Holiday 100 (peak of #15), and it still does well enough on iTunes for whatever that's worth, but I don't even think it charts on the Holiday 100 anymore.

Maybe because it's too depressing to listen to in these trying times.
