She's never had a hit. How can she flop?

I can't see Nikka putting out a ballad considering this album has been hyped up to be one of the funkiest albums this year.

She was so out-of-place as a support act for Britney in 2K2. However, I enjoyed her performance. She was hella wildin'.

I'm really excited to hear this! I loved her first album. She is so underrated and I hope this is a hit.
Anyone know where we can hear it?

It has its first 3 spins on CHR-Pop. www.nikkacosta.com/You can listen to the song. The album "can'tneverdidnothin" (that's how the website wrote it) comes out October 5.

This is very Prince. Is that him on backing vocals? I don't really like it though. It's not nearly as good as "Like A Feather". I think it's a flop.

Wow, this is really different. But it is actually kind of what I was expecting. Something extremely funky. The chorus does get stuck in your head.
But I agree, what is UP with those weird vocals?? She sounds like a constipated munchkin. I'll definitely need to hear more of the album.

"Like a Feather" remains one of the worst songs in the history of the universe, but I'm still interested in hearing this.

Didn't she open for Britney back in 2002?! lol. I liked "Like A Feather"...thought the song was very underrated. How did it do at Pop radio?! Although Nikka is an artist to watch, I don't think this song will do anything for her dwindling career. I don't think it'll chart on Pop radio. But I wouldn't count her off yet...she's somebody that could emerge out of nowhere.

Man... I just listened to this about six times in a row, and it's seriously growing on me. Great backing track! I don't think the vocals sound "retarted" at all.

NIKKA COSTA I Don't Think We've Met Producer(s): Justin Stanley, Nikka Costa Writer(s): J. Stanley, N. Costa Publisher(s): Littlescreama Music (ASCAP); Mushroom Music; Spacesoup Music (ASCAP) Genre: POP Label/Catalog Number: Virgin 7087 6 18739 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: July 31, 2004
The funky Nikka Costa returns with "I Don't Think We've Met," the first single from her forthcoming album, "Can'tneverdidnothin'." Costa burst into the mainstream three years ago with the excellent disc "Everybody Got Their Something." While none of the singles from that set took off at radio, Costa made a name for herself as a live act—strutting and wailing as if she were the love child of Prince and Janis Joplin. With "I Don't Think We've Met," Costa turns in another groovy, upbeat cut. The catchy song bounces along with distorted vocals, a deep bassline, hand claps and drums provided by the Roots' ?uestlove. Adventurous alternative rock stations are the most obvious fit for the quirky track, but mainstream top 40 outlets should also give it a chance.—KC

I don't like this song at all. Although, I do see it growing on me a little bit. The screeching is awful.

I don't expect Alternative to play it like the review said. Billboard reviews are too optimistic.

I like it. It is definitely not as good as "Like A Feather" but it is still pretty unique

This song is unique!! We need that! Of course finding a radio station and video station to air it is another thing, as people are so narrowminded. I seriously doubt all the other songs will have the screaching as you say. Could she not be like a Macy Gray/ Lenny Kravitz, although their albums never get no respect either, lol. Does anyone have an mp3?
