They are releasing this as a single. I dont know if its goign for adds but I believe they are selling the single. I'm a big fan of The Emotions and i was really upset when I found out she was doing this because i always wanted a female group like EnVogue or Destiny's Child to remake this song but Mary did a respectable cover of it. its not better than the original at all though, but respectable. s8.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=EBC0643315D6A6A9A78A2B8DBA2F31A3

This is more of a download single than a radio single. I don't think it's going to radio. Thanks for uploading so I don't have to spend 99c. ;)
I'm honestly not that crazy about her cover of "Best Of My Love" or her cover of "Got To Be Real" that came out over the fall. They both sound like low budget children's songs the way they were produced. I love Mary but I hope her next album has better mixing than this.

This is a classic song that I would have loved to hear Mariah sing.
Oh wait a minute, I guess she did with her 1991 hit "Emotions". LOL.

Karen Clark Sheard used "Best Of My Love" for her gospel hit "We Acknowledge You" during her live sets she starts off singing "Best Of My Love." Mary did a good job, but I agree that the production could've been better. Her vocals were good though.

It's probably not well produced because it was made by Gap on a commercial budget. They likely weren't even planning to release it when it was being made.

I still hate her version of "to be real" but "best of my love" is growin on me! I like it much more now! I think her new album will be as consistant as they always are. One thing with Mary J. u always know what to expect. Pure hip hop/ soul!!! And blah at the Mary J. Immataters!

MARY J. BLIGE Best of My Love Producer(s): Rich Harrison Writer(s): A.P. McKay, M. White Publisher(s): EMI/April Music (ASCAP); Steel Chest Music (ASCAP) Genre: R&B/HIP-HOP Label/Catalog Number: Geffen 75021037243 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: January 22, 2005
Mary J. Blige's cover of the Emotions' 1977 No. 1 R&B/pop hit "Best of My Love" first attracted attention late last year when a snippet was featured in the Gap's 2004 holiday campaign. Featuring actress Sarah Jessica Parker, the TV commercial also included a split-second cameo of singer Blige. Now, the featured song arrives as a full-fledged promotional release on its own. Fans of the disco-era original—produced by Earth, Wind & Fire's Maurice White—won't be disappointed by this update, which should also appeal to contemporary fans. Producer Rich Harrison has turned "Best of My Love" into one exuberant neo-disco soul jam. As for Blige, well, her earthy, street-veined vocals provide the track with its necessary edge. Covering well-known hits can be a dicey proposition. But in this case, Blige makes the song her own.—GM
