No, it didn't debut this week. Despite the fact that it's #23 on the comparable R&R chart. Apparently the song isn't getting much airplay on AT40's affiliate stations, for whatever reason. Either that or the song's not getting enough "hard spins".

I was beginning to wonder if Ryan was ever going to take a week off...

Resulting in another AT40 record being broken. At age 17, Hilary Duff now becomes the youngest person to guest/co-host American Top 40. Originally, the title belonged to Debbie Gibson at age 19.

No one posted the rest of chart...interesting?
His first comments this week is about how hot it is in the studio, like we care. Crank up the AC!!! This is almost and bad when he talked about his girlfriend for the February 14th week.
Seacrest needs the week off after losing one of his jobs. He should come back with a better focus on the artists and less about himself.

Wow, you'd think he'd at least put the Kimberley Locke song on where it's supposed to be, being as he knows her from American Idol and all.
At least Ryan's not as bad as Rick Dees (yet), what with his debuts by Bernie Mac and all.

That's what he said. Something like, "It's hot in here and we've got the AC cranked up." That could have been a lead-in to playing "Hot In Herre" as an extra.

Quickie, benq104957, thanks for the pinch-hit (was off camping this weekend). I'm still bafflled by the lack of "My Happy Ending" yet he does a double-play with "Complicated" (I guess playing a song that should actually be on the chart would make too much sense).
To finish it out, anyone have the top 15?

*sigh* I had hoped that Ed McMann would guest host. And my dream would be for Casey Kasem too. Too bad they are going the "celebrity" guest hosting route... I get enough of that on Carson Daly.

I'm still bafflled by the lack of "My Happy Ending" yet he does a double-play with "Complicated" (I guess playing a song that should actually be on the chart would make too much sense). To finish it out, anyone have the top 15? #1 Leave (Get Out) (2nd week at #1 #2 The Reason #3 Everytime #4 Burn #5 Dip It Low #6 Meant To Live #7 Turn Me On #8 Pieces Of Me (???) #9 Move Ya Body #10 Confessions Part 2 #11 #12 Yeah #13 This Love #14 Naughty Girl #15 I Don't Wanna Know
Sorry Cerebro, but I don't remember the LW positions (except of course for Leave, Get Out)
AT40 Analysis Rick Dees used to suck up to special guests by moving that act's song to #1 no matter where it was on the chart. Ryan has his own "red carpet treatment" for in-studio guests. Last week, he played "I Decide" when Lindsay Lohan dropped by. This week, he played "Miss Independent" following his interview with Kelly Clarkson. In the coming weeks, when the Duff sisters visit the show, does that mean all the extras (Rewind, Double Play, Out Of The Box) will be songs by Hillary or Haylie Duff?
"Here Without You" is finally gone, which is both good news (it's been on too long) and bad news (I still kind of like it).

OK, here's the whole countdown in full:
XX 40 On The Way Down/Ryan Cabrera XX 39 I Like That/Houston f/Chingy & Nate Dogg XX 38 Dude/Beenie Man f/Ms. Thang 34 37 Toxic/Britney Spears 35 36 The Way You Move/Outkast 28 35 Overnight Celebrity/Twista 33 34 Someday/Nickelback 39 33 One Thing/Finger Eleven 30 32 My Immortal/Evanescence 31 31 Echo/Trapt 29 30 With You/Jessica Simpson 32 29 Feelin' Way Too Damn Good/Nickelback 36 28 Let's Get It Started/Black-Eyed Peas 23 27 Don't Tell Me/Avril Lavigne 25 26 Angels/Jessica Simpson 24 25 Tipsy/J-Kwon 27 24 Slow Motion/Juvenile 26 23 She Will Be Loved/Maroon 5 19 22 Hey Mama/Black-Eyed Peas 22 21 How Come/D12 21 20 If I Ain't Got You/Alicia Keys 20 19 Heaven/Los Lonely Boys 17 18 Freek-A-Leek/Petey deleted 11 17 This Love/Maroon 5 18 16 Ocean Avenue/Yellowcard 13 15 I Don't Wanna Know 08 14 Naughty Girl/Beyonce 14 13 Scandalous/Mis-teeq 10 12 Yeah/Usher f/Ludacris & Lil' Jon 06 11 Roses/Outkast 15 10 Confessions/Usher 16 09 Move Ya Body/Nina Sky 12 08 Pieces Of Me/Ashlee Simpson 09 07 Turn Me On/Kevin Lyttle 07 06 Meant To Live/Switchfoot 05 05 Dip It Low/Christina Milian 03 04 Burn/Usher 04 03 Everytime/Britney Spears 02 02 The Reason/Hoobastank 01 01 Leave (Get Out)/Jojo
Dropped: #37: Numb/Linkin' Park #38: Here Without You/3 Doors Down #40: Dirt Off Your Shoulder/Jay-Z
Possible debuts next week: My Happy Ending/Avril Lavigne (although since every song above #34 on R&R except for this one is on the chart, I'm a tad suspicious that they're keeping this off deliberately, though I can't imagine why) My Place/Nelly (The highest debut on the R&R chart and an increase of spins over 1000) On Fire/Lloyd Banks Other than that, no songs in the Top 40 on R&R look like they have enough steam to debut next week. Of course, all these songs may not make it either. However, I think we'll have at least one debut next week, as "Overnight Celebrity" by Twista is losing steam rather quickly. "Toxic" and "The Way You Move" might also move off the survey next week to make way for these songs, but you never can tell how long the recurrents will stick around. We'll have to see what pans out next week, but I hope "My Happy Ending" makes it.
