Word has it this will be released as the fourth single from "The Reason", and the CHR/Pop follow-up release to their self-titled #1 smash.
This is probably the best bet for a second mianstream hit, though it'll fall well short of "The Reason" in total exposure.
I'm predicting a Top 20 entrance for this, with a fair possibility of a Top 15 entry, but won't go Top 10.
My Prediction: #13
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

It's better for CHR/Pop than "Same Direction," but I don't see this being much of a hit.

It's better for CHR/Pop than "Same Direction," but I don't see this being much of a hit. #34 If anything could make "Same Direction" work on CHR/Pop, it's that the video connects to that of "The Reason" video, and it should continue to get some strong MTV appeal. But as far as how the singles sound, "Disappear" would strike a better chord. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Not feeling this song. I don't think it has Pop-potential. I say a peak at 27. Hoobastank will probably be a one-hit wonder at Pop.

Hoobastank will probably be a one-hit wonder at Pop. "Running Away" hit #24 in 2002.

I like this better than "The Reason", but not quite as much as "Same Direction". I'm sure they'll cut it down a bit for radio, but the last couple of minutes of this song gives me chills sometimes.

I like Hoobastank a lot, and I think this could be a fairly big hit on Pop, but I think this a wrong decision on their part to release this song. Another sappy Pop song could ruin their Alternative career, which isn't exactly that strong right now anyway, with "Same Direction" struggling to make the Top 10.

Any third single that hits the top 10 is a pretty darn good showing.

On alternative, the third single from their last album only made it to #20, so "Same Direction" has aleady outpeaked that by seven spots. Agreed.

HOOBASTANK Disappear Producer(s): Howard Benson Writer(s): D. Estrin, D. Robb Publisher(s): ASCAP Label/Catalog Number: Island 16081 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: October 23, 2004
Hoobastank delivered one of the great musical moments of the year with "The Reason." That's all good, but it presents quite the formidable challenge: How do you follow such mammoth breakthrough success at top 40 when an edgy ballad is hardly characteristic of the band's hard-rocking signature? At rock radio, the group has protected its roots with crank-it-up jam "Same Direction"—and now, without compromising its integrity, comes the one that will maintain pop's love affair with Hoobastank. "Disappear" is another undulating rock-based ballad, big on hooks and dramatic riffs with all the melodic epoxy it needs to carry this group to the same sort of celebrity as similar success story Maroon5. Island may be holding its breath to see if this one does the trick, but it takes only a spin or two to know that this band is hardly about to "Disappear." A top-drawer next step forward.—CT

Well.......that seals it! If CT loves it and says its a sure fire hit it'll do a bellyflop.

I like this better than "The Reason". It won't chart as high, but I still see this going Top 10.

I like "The Reason" better. I think this is the boring one. It sounds like all other typical post-grunge midtempo tracks. It's not horrible though.

The bland "The Reason" is better, but not by much.

It has made the Top 50 on CHR-Pop before Alternative.

Not bad, but nothing earthshattering. This is your usual bland rock-ish ballad. "Same Direction" was a great song, but I doubt it'll be enough to save their alt "cred" if this turkey runs wild at pop.

"The Reason" is much better than this. Based on one listen, I liked "Disappear" a lot less than I expected to.

It's like they're trying to be the 30,000th band to try and re-invent "Hey Jude"'s classic outro.

Its bullet keeps shrinking...not a good sign.
At this rate, it'll peak between what Josh said - #34 - and what friday said - #27.

I like this song. It's not as good as "The Reason" or "Same Direction" but I still like it. I hope that it's bullet will increase or else this will not be as big as it should be.
My prediction: #19
