I am going by Billboard listings on how a single charts
Uncredited performances, or performances on remixes are not actually counted in that total

It's weird that he's considered uncredited on that song. He wrote and sang the hook. lol And was nominated for Grammys with it.

Most weeks spent in the top 10 of the Hot 100 - Billboard year 2007 through 27 weeks - all songs combined. Might be a fun thing to track if someone wants to project artist of the year ?? AKON 55 JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE 26 FERGIE 24 NELLY FURTADO 21 LUDACRIS 20 BEYONCE 18 GWEN STEFANI 18 SNOOP DOGG 13 AVRIL LAVIGNE 12 DAUGHTRY 11 This is definitely helpful for Artist of the Year, though you have to also keep in mind that points are split for tracks with multiple artists. So, Justin splits the points for "GITM" with both Timbaland and Nelly, so in a way he only gets 1/3 of the top 10 weeks for that song. A lot of Akon's songs are with other artists, so he doesn't get full credit for most of his songs either. That will really make things interesting.

Not a precise art here but, it gets you most of the way. There is a clear difference between #1 and #2. The person at #1 also has one of the best selling albums of the year. At this point, no contest.

I would have thought "Irreplaceable" had more top 10 weeks than that, and I had no idea "TSE" had so many. I also didn't realize "HTSAL" had so many this chart year. How many did it have last chart year?

I would have thought "Irreplaceable" had more top 10 weeks than that, and I had no idea "TSE" had so many. I also didn't realize "HTSAL" had so many this chart year. How many did it have last chart year? Irreplaceable had two more weeks in the top 10, but they fell on the 2006 side of the cutoff for the Billboard year. The Sweet Escape had a strong chart run, then rebounded not once, but twice while still in the top 10. HTSAL had nine other weeks in the top 10 that counted for the 2006 Billboard year. So nineteen weeks total. Pretty darn impressive. While I'm here, here is the updated list: Most Weeks in Hot 100 Top 10 - Billboard Year The Sweet Escape 15 Girlfriend* 14 Irreplaceable 14 Say It Right 14 Don't Matter 13 Glamorous 13 I Wanna Love You 13 Cupid's Chokehold 11 Fergalicious 11 How to Save a Life 10 It's Not Over 10 Smack That 10 We Fly High 10 Once again, Girlfriend is the only song with 10+ weeks in the top 10 that is currently in the top 10. However, Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin') is a contender for this list, as it currently has spent nine weeks in the top 10.

Maybe Fred doesn't count "Loverboy" because it was only 49 cents. ;)

Umbrella is the only true Canadian #1. Technically, the other ones don't count Considering before, Canada didn't have an official singles chart AND the fact that they were all #1 on the Canadian digital singles chart, they all do COUNT.

Based on the digital chart, I can presume: "Makes Me Wonder" (4 weeks at #1) "Give It To Me" (2 weeks at #1) "Girlfriend" (4 weeks at #1) That's the # of weeks they spent at #1 on the Canadian download chart btw, which I can presume are the same for the Canadian Hot 100.

2m, the test chart has been running for 12 weeks, but only the published charts are official. So Umbrella has only been #1 for one week technically because the chart in its "official" form has only existed for one week.
The same thing happened when any new chart appears. Like when The Pop 100 first appeared, it also had weeks in the previous week column, two week column, and peak position column, but none of those stats technically counted either.

Not sure we can assume that. Weren't you the one making the fuss about us assuming that the physical Idol singles weren't coming, and you're now you're assuming this? I think something like this is harder to assume I would wait to see how similar the Canadian Hot 100 is to the Canadian Digital Singles chart in the following weeks to see if we can really say how long those songs may have spent @ #1 on the test chart. It might be intresting to see how they did on airplay if there is a published Canadian Hot 100 Airplay too

Akon has 55 weeks in the top 10! That is so smashing.
He will get more because "Bartender" with T-Pain is already almost top 10 on iTunes with NO video, no adds date, anything...that should should get him at least another what 5-10 weeks?
Plus he will be featured on possible singles from Faboulous, and Daddy Yankee...
and if that Zion track ever catches on

There appear to be 4 #1's in the last 12 weeks, I know what they are; this gives a good estimate of the distribution of weeks. The Idol CD singles may or may not come. The website I quoted didn't say it would or would not come either, just that they weren't ruling it out.
