Beautiful Girls or whatever sounds aight. It's better than the original to me, and I am a guy and most guys don't say that. However, I don't think the public is really feeling the song as much, so I don't know how much this will really spur interest in the CD if it's re-released. Note to God is a good song. What are you saying?

Is BG on her album? How does it fit into THR era? It's not. It's a song she recorded for the album but didn't make the cut for some ODD reason. I guess since Sean Kingston used it and it became a hit she decided to release it. Does that cover it guys? But Sean Kingston is the writer of Beautiful Girls. All Jojo's is is a cover.

JR already established that the song was leftover from a JoJo session for her last album.

Sean "co-wrote" his version? So the one we're hearing on her MySpace is the song she originally recorded for the album? So who owns the rights to the song? I thought some people saved the stuff that got recorded but didn't make the album. After hearing JoJo's version, I'm surprised it didn't make the cut. 100 JOJO Beautiful Girls 58 0 58 0.664 Go, JOJO!

JoJo's song sounds like a response to Sean's version though. I'm guessing JR made the track for JoJo (but it probably had different lyrics). Then Sean recorded his version and wrote his own lyrics, and then in response to Sean's lyrics, JoJo made her response song.

JoJo's lyrics don't sound like they would have been the original, but rather a response to Sean's.

I heard JoJo's version of the song on Wild 94.9 in San Francisco during their evening mixshow. It was a nice surprise. They played it immediately after playing Sean's version.
I really like JoJo's version. She sounds much better and it's just right. I love the dance-oriented R&B vibe of hers. Hope it takes off.

So Sean's version is a response to JoJo's? I agree! Her version is perfect. It's just a better song with her singing it. Go, JOJO!

I'm sure he wrote his own version. The lyrics aren't exactly the same anyway are they? The response J.R. gave made it seem like JoJo's was original, but like everyone said it seems more like the answer to his. I'm sure she used the beat before, but with a completely different concept. Dunno the full story though. JoJo's is still better though.

IMO, hers does sound like the original. Her version just sounds too good for it not to be. I think Sean's version is the one that sounds like a bad cover. But I understand what everyone else is saying. But there wouldn't be a real reason for her record label to release it if JR just used the beat and it was an entirely different song. Unless she just wanted to do it for fun. But the only reason I can see to release it would be if that was the original. But I don't know either. I just know that her version is a whole lot better. Go, JOJO!

The label really needs to officially send it for adds, and I really hope they're thinking about a re-release for THR. They're probably too cheap for that though.

I love JoJo's version, but I think Sean's is the original.
It just doesn't make sense for her to have this song randomly show up at this perfect time once his version is starting to fade. Hense, "answer". She may have used to beat before, but I doubt she had this whole song written and recorded before Sean's hit radio.

#1 Sean's version ISN'T fading. It's the #2 song on iTunes, #1 Video on iTunes, #2 on Pop (Mediabase), his album is coming out next week. And it WOULD make sense if she recorded it for her album and it didn't make the cut. We all know that a lot of songs usually get recorded and then they narrow it down. "Miss Independent" was originally Christina Aguilera's song. "Irreplaceable" was originally for Fantasia. "Over It" is basically a remake of "Too Little, Too Late." So it is possible.

Well this is kinda O/T, but "Miss Independent" wasn't Christina's song. It's true that she co-wrote the song, but she didn't complete it. Kelly and her producer did. Christina never recorded the song, so we can't say that MI was HER song. She's just a co-writer of th song.

anyway, Sean Kingston's version of the song is obviously becoming a smash summer hit. that means if Blackground officially release her version of the song, it could easily be hit song, too! it will top the iTunes. and then, we can get the re-release version of THR!

You've COMPLETELY missed the point. I remember when Christina was on TRL and they asked her about it. She said that Kelly did a good job with it. But the song wasn't written for Kelly originally. It was Christina's. I wasn't saying it as a bad thing. I mentioned it because there have been songs that started out with a particular artist and not ended up on their album but on someone else's.

Oh, did i sound rude? Sorry, but i totally understood what you meant, and i never thought that was bad thing. I just wanted to say that 'Miss Independent' is totally different case with 'Beautiful Girls.' I certainly know that the song wasn't originally written for Kelly. Christina is the one who started to write the song while 'Stripped' recording era, but she didn't finish the song. And after 'Stripped' was released, the producer took the incomplete song to Kelly and they finished it together. So i think 'MI' was not Christina's song because she never finished or recorded it. She's just a CO-WRITER of the song. And Kelly said that nobody said that Christina is co-writer of the song to her until recording process is end. And when she realized it, she was so surprised because she's such a HUGE fan of Christina. Of course, Christina DID like the song and said Kelly did a great job with the song. 'MI' was one of the most succesful pop single of that year, and its chart-running was more succesful than Christina's self-wrote singles at that time. So 'MI' is great start for Christina to be recognized as a singer-song-writer, as well as good for Kelly!
