I know, I did. ;) We have the chance to listen to stuff before hit stores, but I think we have to support the artists and buy their music too! * itunes tracks are protected with passwords ... Can you PM it to me? I have "Get Your Hands Up" (ft. Black Eyed Peas) if you want it. I also have this song called "Mash", but I have no idea what it is, I didn't listen to it yet. I also need "Close To You" lol. Ok I just bought my copy. Lyrics included, she has writing credits on every song. They gave me little pins with it, like to stick on your shirt, haha. One with FERGIE written and the other one with BLACK EYED PEAS. |

Perfect Lie, "Maybe We Can Take A Ride" should be on your cd copy. It is the hidden track of the album. It comes after "Get Your Hands Up" ... there is a 60 sec. space between the songs.

So I bought her album yesterday and I'm mixed on it.
Part of me wants to say this is a great album filled with catchy hip hop/pop tunes that will propell this to great sales. But after giving it a few listens I realized it is just a xerox of gwen stefani, black eyed peas, the pussy cat dolls, and any other artist that does similar music.
I thought "London Bridge" was really catchy, but the lyrics were so trashy and unoriginal. However in an interview she said the rest of the album would be very different from LB. I love "Clumsy" and "Pedestal" with the latter probably being my favorite on the album...but honestly I could have seen the pussy cat dolls doing those songs too.
"Glamorous" is a straight rip off of Gwen's "Luxurious", Ludacris, the beat, title, and the subject matter.
There is the occasional ballad there that stands out and shows more depth to Fegie. I like "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Finally" is sweet. However the rest of the album I will probably be skipping through.
Her reported second single "Fergalicious" sounds way too much like "My Humps" and "Pump It" to stand out enough for me.
Also the album is way too sample heavy for my liking.
So all in all it's a good listen but at the end of the day simply a sub par effort to duplicate other artists's sounds.
I would give it a B-/C+.

I think overall I like this album. I like it less on each listen, but I still like it quite a bit. The songs aren't as fresh after hearing them a few times, but are still catchy. I really like Finally, although it is somewhat cliche. Here I come, Clumsy, Mary Jane Shoes, Fergalicious and Pedestal are also nice, and I like them in the order listed, from my favorite to least favorite.
This album really changed my views on Fergie's singing. I didn't think she was as strong of a singer, but after hearing this album, my views on her singing have definitely changed. The girl can sing! It's a pretty good album, and was a pleasant surprise in many ways. I've found that in this release season, I've felt that the newbie albums have been better than the veterans. I've liked Cassie's, Paris's and Fergie's were pleasant surprises while Beyonce's, Rihanna's, and Jessica's were somewhat disappointing. Christina and Justin delivered somewhat, but not to my heart's content.

Ok I finally heard the whole album tonight and it's better than I expected. I hate London Bridge but on some of these tracks she proves she can really sing. I think she's got several singles that should do well so sales should remain strong.
My personal favorite is Clumsy with Finally a close second.
