Fergie will be doing a signing at Macy's Herald Square in NYC for her Kipling handbag collection on 9/5. Then she will perform on Fashion Rocks which will air on CBS 9/7. ---- HITS says the album will remain top 10 with another 45-50k again. ---- New Fergie and Josh pictures 9/2   |

I'm so glad that "Big Girls Don't Cry" finally hit number one in the U.S.! Me, too. I love that song (although I do prefer Jordan McCoy's version a bit more). |

The Dutchess comes in at #5 this week, nearly a year after it's release!
I said it in the other thread, but I will say it again. She had a lot going against her, lot's of bashing, and lot's of nay sayers, and has hung in there.
And through it all she is a sweet, down to earth person who never bashes any other artists, in spite of many of them beating on her.

Fergie has Josh Duhamel in real life, but male model Alex Lundquist fills in for her beau in the video she shot Friday for her new single, "Clumsy." D2 fashion designers Dean and Dan Caten styled the shoot, after running into Wilhelmina Models president Sean Patterson (who is Fergie's agent) on vacation in Mykonos the week before.

Fergie won the VMA for Female Artist of the Year :) I really think Fergie deserved it, based on radio play, sales, videos, etc. and this is coming from someone who is FAR from being a Fergie fan, especially of her voice, lol. So, I have to say well-deserved to Fergie ! ;) |

Compared to what some of the other ladies have accomplished...she really didn't deserve the win. She had 4 successful singles, but other than that...her album went platinum and she pissed her pants.
Meanwhile, Beyonce had 2 top 5 singles(1 of which was #1 for 10 weeks) and her album has sold about almost 3mil in the US alone. She also starred in Dreamgirls, which was one of the biggest movies of the year.
Rihanna had one of the biggest singles of the year and is evolving into the new Beyonce. She really didn't deserve the win that much either since she hasn't done too much this year, yet.
Amy Winehouse had 1 successful single and her album has gone platinum...not worthy of the win.
Clearly...Beyonce should have won.

BTW she did not have the pants incident this year. And obviously fans feel she is the best, she also won the fans choice for best female artist. I like Rihanna and Beyonce, but this was Fergie's year to shine and become a solo artist in spite of a lot of nasty stuff saying she would never make it. She totally deserves it. She is a hard worker and a great person. |

I have nothing against Fergie and applaud her on her victory...but IMO, she wasn't the "female artist of the year". One of them, perhaps...but not <i>the</i>.
