I think Bo's feeling fine by now. He's doing an acoustic show in Nashville at the Exit/In tonight. He also has a few dates lined up in May in NY and Maryland... something's up!

I probably don't need to ask, but I would definitely appreciate it if someone could post at least the setlist from tonight's show here, after the show is over (of course!). I'll be very interested to hear what Bo plays tonight. Thanks! I hope that all in attendance have a great time, and, of course, best of luck to Bo!

I'll dig around and see what I can come up with for you! I think he's going to be testing new material. Apparently he showed up unannounced at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville a couple of weeks ago and played some new songs.

So is he gonna change over to a new major label?
On his last album he only had one video and maybe 1 or 2 singles without any real promotion because of his health. He still did good with the circumstances he faced. Is it true that he got dropped from his label... If so thats ridiculous. And someone do explain the story on that.

Bo's show was fantastic last night! His new songs rock - they're bluesy and soulful and really, really good. You can watch some short clips of three of them here.

Bo appeared with some of his old friends and original band members from his early days in Muscle Shoals - Gary Nichols (now signed with Mercury Nashville) and Chris Tomkins (who wrote "Before He Cheats"). Bo joked that Chris is one of his oldest friends and yet he's writing hit songs for everyone else. So he said he called him up and said "come on dude, throw me a bone." I guess Chris was up for it because they got together and wrote lots of new stuff - they played two of them last night. Gary Nichols also came on to sing a song he co-wrote with Bo. The only other person playing was Thomas Lee - Bo's current keyboard player. Someone asked for a setlist for the show. Here it is: Remember Me (from TRT) Changing for the Better * Papion * American Blood * (new song written with Chris Tomkins) I’m Gone * (new song written with Chris Tomkins) Night Moves U Make Me Better Sinner in a Sin * I Ain’t Gonna Die * (new song written with Gary Nichols) They’ll Never Take the Country Out of Me* new song The Real Thing Long Rain (?) * new song Sweet Home Alabama I know we're in the TRT thread but I suspect we need a whole new thread for Bo because his new CD is going to rock, no matter who puts it out! * = written by Bo

I loved Bo on AI and I feel he got a raw deal, I personally think he and Carrie were the best top 2 finalists ever on AI. I really hope he gets another shot at mainstream success because in my opinion he has been the best Male singer and performer to Grace the American Idol stage. I resent Clive for not giving him the chance that he gave Chris, Bo is unique and deserves to be treated as a true artist.

Bo was spotted by some blogger at the LA airport who got this picture of him: The blogger makes a big deal about what looks like a Burger King bag in Bo's hand, but if Bo's arriving in LA he's obviously got some business going on there which isn't a bad thing! One of the things he was there for was the launch party at the Playboy mansion for the third season of Girls Next Door because there are pics of him there at Getty Images. I'm sure that's not the reason he flew out to LA though. Simon, Randy and Ryan from Idol were at the party too, my guess is he hooked up with them. Looking good! I hope he's doing some recording while he's in LA. His new songs are great. He co-wrote two of them with Chris Tompkins, one of the writers of Carrie Underwood's Before He Cheats. Bo was joking around that he finally beat Carrie at something because he knew Chris first (apparently they were bandmembers way before Bo was on Idol). It was cute. Here are videos of the songs: I'm GoneAmerican BloodThey're a little hard to listen to because of the crowd screaming, but they definitely sound promising!

More Bo news! Bo recorded the title track for Will Ferrell's upcoming movie, Blades of Glory. It's a pretty funny song--the lyrics are hysterical! Very tongue in cheek: You can listen to the whole track on the movie's myspace page: www.myspace.com/bladesofglory

Wow! Some great news there about Bo, on several counts! He had a rough first year post-Idol. It's about time things started to come together for him!

I was at the concert last Fri. night at the Exit/In and his new songs kicked ass. It was great to see the crowd get into completely new songs. Bo seems to be moving in the right direction and I can't wait for his next album.
Bo mentioned last night on bb.com that he just got back from making the video in LA for Blades of Glory. That should be a hoot. Bo has a great sense of humor and I bet he he loved every minute of working on this video.

So it was just a false rumor then that he was dropped by RCA right? I mean, he couldnt be doing all this cool stuff and releasing a new album so fast without a record label behind him...right?

RCA's website has been updated and reformatted. I could not find Bo listed as one of their artists. Of course, it's possible Bo could be moving to a different RMG label. I don't know. Then again, Bo and his bands put out albums on their own before Idol. (You can still buy Bo's "Recipe For Flavor" EP at www.sugarmoney.net if you want to hear the real Bo.) But Bo and SugarMoney had recorded some original songs they hoped to have considered for Bo's first RCA album too, but RCA wouldn't have it. Bo said in his CMT "In The Moment" interview that there were 5 songs he wanted the RCA guys to consider that they refused to even take the time to listen to. I don't know how many of Bo's songs they actually did listen to. (Bo co-wrote two of the songs on TRT.) Anyway, during all the time since summer 2005, including time recuperating from surgeries and injuries, I wouldn't be surprised if Bo was writing. He easily could have an album full of originals ready for the studio as soon as he signs with a new label.

Bo's website bobice.com has announced shows in Las Vegas and Yuma, AZ. There may be shows at the House of Blues in San Diego, Anaheim and Los Angeles but nothing official yet. The scheduled shows are acoustic with Gary Nichols opening for him.
Bo is sounding like he has healed from the October emergency intensive care setback and he looks healthy. Certainly, his vocals are powerful on the Blades of Glory track.
I so hope he catches a break this time around.

Damage, you have to click on the track name to hear the whole song on the Blades of Glory myspace page. The song cracks me up, I wonder how Bo kept a straight face while he was recording it. Can't wait for the video! On his website, Bo thanked Ben Stiller for thinking of him for this project (Ben is a producer of the movie). Very cool.

I thought I'd clean the cobwebs off this thread... lol it was buried pretty deep!! Anyway, Bo's back on the road, doing an acoustic tour with Gary Nichols, a country artist. There's no video yet, but here's a picture: He's doing two shows in New York City, one tonight that's sold out but another on on Tuesday at the Canal Room. His upcoming dates are on his website: bobice.com/index.php?content=tour

Yea, Bo! Wish I could make the NYC show. Doing an acoustic show is a nice changeup! I went to the show on Friday night -- now I'm trying to figure out if I can make it to the one on Tuesday too. It was really fun! Here's his acoustic version of The Real Thing, he changed it up a bit and added some southern rock flair to it. The crowd loved it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll_rg68P1B8It was the first time I've seen him live, and his voice is just incredible. Really. And he looked pretty good too:
