"Gotta Move On" and "My Everything" are by far the worst tracks on the album...so boring.
10 tracks won't cut it Monica, why is someone gonna want to buy this? No new fans for sure, just her normal fanbase i think

I wish she san the chorus instead of going "ouuuu ohhh ahh ouuuu". We're not in the 90's anymore.

Billboard:
Monica's seasoned pipes have always set her a cut above peers who get by on dance routines and/or barely there vocals. While "The Makings of Me" has its needless trend-chasing moments, her rich voice and prime subject matter are the main draw. The Swizz Beatz-produced "Raw" expertly blends her rolling alto with a spicy drum-driven beat, and the catchy piano melody of "Why Her" sounds a lot like Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" (both were produced by Jermaine Dupri). Basic ballads like "My Everything" and "Getaway" find Monica in true vocalist form, but her street twang and rapping persona walk a thin line between natural ("Sideline Ho") and forced ("Gotta Move"). Also avoidable is the finger-snapping single "Everytime Tha Beat Drop," thankfully the only song of its kind here. Monica is good enough without the fluff. —Clover Hope

It is a great album. Better than After The Storm and The Boy Is Mine. I'm so proud of Monica.
The only thing is, its just way shorter than it needs to be. But that's not gonna affect sales much becuz she got 4 or 5 strong singles.

^ - that's if J bothers to release 4 or 5 singles. They may stop at 3 just like they did with ATS.

Actually I think J Records stopped after 4 singles on ATS. So Gone, Knock Knock, Get It Off, and Should've Known Better were all sent to radio and had a video of some sort as well. I remember Knock Knock and Get It Off were a double single.

For those of you buying the album, get it from Best Buy becuz it comes with a bonus track.

I don't like the album at all. I don't even like one song on it. ATS was way more better!

I'm listening to it right now. Half way through and nothing is interesting so far. It sounds just like the other 999 R&B records out there, so generic. Or maybe I'm just not into this genre and can't appreciate all the nuances.

I have to say that i've never been disappointed by any of her albums so far. Her music isn't very original but at least she always comes up with many great songs.

LMAO!! But isn't that cover "typical" of her street and thug trash image right now? I think it fits right in with what's she's "trying" to give right now. ;)

ahh ..i'm no monica fan but i LOVE "Street Symphony". The dance mixes of"So Gone" & "Get It Off" are/were off the hook. not buying the cd though, i'll buy the dance mixes from itunes when she releases any.

I bought her CD today at Best Buy. I'm liking it so far. "Beat Drop" is probably the worst song on the album.
