Lindsay has a platinum and a gold album. Ali has a Christmas song?
Yeah. They're not EXACTLY in the same boat. ;)

Nobody really cares about either album except for their fans. Note the sarcasm in the rollingstone article. Plus stop inflating numbers. She may have been certified those plaques, but Speak sold a little over 1 mil & ALMP sold under 310k, after being released in the holiday season. Anyway, I'm interested in hearing this album. "Bossy" was terrible, but I love dance/pop, so I'll probably love this.

"Spirit In The Dark" is the best album title I have EVER heard of! I hope she keeps this title!
I can't wait for "Playground" in September, my birthday month!

I never said she sold 500k; I said her album was certified gold. And of course Rolling Stone won't genuinely be excited for a Lindsay Lohan album (not many self-respecting music publication would be) - but I still think she'd have more luck than Ali should the latter release an album soon. All I said was that I disagreed with you.

perrrrr trevor "Surely an album that will be met with Tha Carter III-like anticipation, Lindsay Lohan’s third studio record, currently titled Spirit in the Dark, will actually feature some big-name producers. The LP includes tracks by the Neptunes’ Pharrell, Akon, RS-proclaimed “Best Hitmakers” Stargate and Bloodshy & Avant (the pair responsible for Britney Spears’ hit “Toxic”). Maybe it’s payback for Lohan appearing in NERD’s “Everybody Nose” video, but Pharrell will also provide guest vocals on Spirit’s first single “Playground.” The song is due to hit radio in September, which will be followed by the album’s release in November. Lohan aficionados can follow the progress of little sister Ali’s so-far-nonexistent music career on the TV show Living Lohan." rollingstone.com Tell me RS is joking about the "most anticipated since Carter III" comment because that's ludicrous! Bossy IS hot though and I can't wait to hear others. Stop touchin, stop touchin, stop touchin me without perMISHUN! Talk it, Lindsay! I hope there is a hot remake of the live version of Spirit in the Dark with The Queen of SoulCannoli and Ray Charles!

Lindsay Lohan happily steps up to the plate while filming continues Thursday on the North Hollywood set of her comedy Labor Pains. She looks adorable there.

She may have been certified those plaques, but Speak sold a little over 1 mil & ALMP sold under 310k, after being released in the holiday season. Anyway, I'm interested in hearing this album. "Bossy" was terrible, but I love dance/pop, so I'll probably love this. I think the main reason ALMP did so poorly was because they decided to release a truly depressing song ("COABH") as the first single. During the holiday season, most people don't want to hear about a father who beats his wife and neglects his children. It was just a terrible choice. Had they gone with something more upbeat and fun like "Who Loves You" or "If You Were Me," I really think the album would have done better. It's a shame it tanked, as it actually is a solid album. And for the record, Lindsay and Ali are not in the same boat. Whereas Lindsay's had a decent amount of success with her music thus far, I'd honestly be shocked if Ali's debut album surpassed 20k its first week out. Lindsay may not be the best singer, but at least her voice is reasonably strong and she can carry a tune. Ali, on the other hand, is beyond horrible.

^ Ali's Christmas album, I believe, hasn't even quite done 10k. Lindsay on the other hand, has sold 1.4 million records in the US alone. And I still hate how people say ALMP 'bombed', it underperformed, but it sold 350k and still managed 80k its first week (despite barely making the top 20), off of ONE single. But like MATM said (and I never thought of before), they really did release a good single (imo), just at the exact wrong time. No one wants to cry during the Christmas season. Ali & Lindsay have never, and likely will never, be in the same boat musically.

"COABH" is a good song with decent lyrics and a nice vocal performance from Lindsay; they just had no business releasing it as the lead single. I don't know what they were thinking. "If You Were Me" would have been my choice for the first single - it's catchy, relatable and full of attitude. Unfortunately, I guess it doesn't really matter now. What's done is done. I'm just praying that her label doesn't make the same mistakes with this album.

I never really thought about it but "If You Were Me" could've actually possibly made a good lead single. "Black Hole" definitely should've been released too though.

These should have been the singles (in no particular order): 1. "If You Were Me" 2. "Black Hole" 3. "Who Loves You" 4. "COABH" or "If It's Alright" It's funny that she sold 80k in her first week and barely scraped the top 20, yet nowadays she probably would have made the top 5 with those numbers. I'm hoping she can at least manage 100k with the new album.

Lindsay Lohan and girlfriend Samantha Ronson enjoy a Sunday stroll – and some Italian ice! – through New York's SoHo neighborhood. Earlier in the weekend, the two were spotted at the Bowery Hotel. www.people.com/people/gallery/0,,20215016,00.html

It's a good song, but it was a horrible, horrible, horrible choice for the first single. Like I said before, nobody wants to hear about an abusive, absentee husband and father during the holiday season. And "IWYTWM" would have been a pretty terrible single, too.

Lindsay Lohan's New Album Pushed Back
Lindsay Lohan's upcoming third studio album has been pushed back to December 9. The album is still untitled. Those rumors of it being called Spirit In The Dark are false as are the reports that the first single will debut in September and is called Playground. Lindsay has worked recently with Pharrell on 3 tracks. She has also done 2 tracks with Akon. She is also going to record another song called "Coming With Me" with Ne-Yo who will sing on the track. Upcoming sessions for her include Danja and Bloodshy. The rumors she worked with Tricky and The-Dream are false and she has no plans to for this album. Plus the songs she did with J.R. Rotem (one of those featuring Snoop) have been shelved. A first single should hit radio in October.
