Keyshia Cole Proves She's "Just Like You" In Reality Show's 2nd Season

Keyshia Cole makes her return to reality television next week, back for a second season of her BET hit show "Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is."

Following on the heels of the successful release of her second album Just Like You, Keyshia heads back on the small screen. In the new season "Keyshia Cole 2: The Way it Is" reunites audiences with Keyshia's poignant struggle to balance her family crises with her budding career as an R&B star.

This time around, cameras capture Cole as she works to complete and release her sophomore CD Just Like You while also sharing the wealth with her mother, recently released from prison, and her sister Neffie, whose battles with alcohol fueled much of the drama behind the show's first season.

The platinum success of Cole's debut album has provided a better life for her and her family, but after the singer invites her mother and sister to live in her Atlanta mansion the two find Keyshia's rules too hard to live by. With the rigors of her career pulling at her, Keyshia is faced with more difficult choices.

In related news, VH1 has their own plans for the Bay Area native. Keyshia Cole has been selected for "VH1 Unplugged," performing hits from her debut as well as new songs from Just Like You.

This season, Keyshia has invited several members of her family to live in her multi-million dollar Atlanta mansion, including her mother, recently released from prison after serving three years for drug-related charges, and her sister, Neffie, who suffers from alcoholism. "No company? Are we just going to look at each other? Are we in prison? We don't get no conjugal visits?" Neffie complains.

"I still feel locked up," says her mother Frankie. "That's not a good way to feel, especially since I'm free. I don't want to feel locked up, so I gotta do me."

Keyshia soon questions whether her efforts to provide her family with such a cushy existence are really worth the toll it is taking on her personally. When she realizes that she cannot balance the pressures of her career with trying to help her mother and sister adapt to their new surroundings and sobriety, she seeks professional help.

I just saw some of her reality show today, and it's good. It gives me a whole new respect for Keyshia. She's real. She's down, but she also has been through a lot. I hope they come out with a DVD of the reality show because I would get all of Season 1.

"Give It Up To Me" was big there, right? I can see the label trying to use the big collabos to get her name out there internationally. I'm glad it wasn't on the US version...I still think "Last Night" shouldn't have been on the album.

Agreed, especially since "Give It Up To Me" is track #2 and not at the end of the album, as every bonus track should be! It wasn't even that big a hit, it only peaked at #31 in the UK, but Sean is really successful here so...

I agree "Last Night" is totally unnecessary on the album which usually I just skip over it. I would understand if she re-worked the song and added a new verse or something.
