She probably doesn't follow Lauryn's disastrous and diva behavior that she has been engaging in since...well, forever, at this point. I'm guessing she was just excited to see Lauryn as a fan and took to Twitter to voice her disappointment. Her biggest mistake was even bothering to see Lauryn Hill in the first place.

A lot of people were also complaining about her "confusing" the audience by "remixing" the material to the point of the songs sounding nothing like the album.

I saw her pre-prison and she was a hot ass mess. She's NEVER on time to anything. We waited at the venue for 2 hours and than she started this whole post Neo-Black speech and I left. I'm not hear for a Black Panther rally. I'm here for the classics and probably a snippet of something that's not engorged with "I Hate the Government" bullsh!t.

She's been doing that for ten years. People should at least try and learn what to expect. (I've seen her play once recently, and remixes or no, she was great. Don't need to see that same show again though, so not seeing her this time around).

She showed up hours late to her concert again the other night and then threw a fit about people being disrespectful when she got booed and ordered security to remove people from the audience. Respect doesn't apply to her.

"If a little patience is too much, it's alright, you can go. I would prefer that."
To be fair she kept a calm tone the whole time and was rather polite with her dismissals. Love it, love her.

I mean, it's rude of her, but at this point I don't know how anybody can complain. Any expectation that she'd show up on time would be unreasonable.

Lauryn Hill Played A Comeback Show In London, And It Sucked! Lauryn Hill's performance at London's Brixton Academy on Saturday night was so controversial and upsetting that it was trending on Twitter for a short time. After keeping the crowd waiting until 10 p.m., Hill finally emerged, and the results were underwhelming. The Guardian review called the show an "intriguing, but often challenging" event that saw Hill "abandon the subtleties and nuances of her neo-soul in favour of old-school hardcore hip-hop. Gesticulating to the soundman to turn everything up to 11, she spits the reflective poetry of Final Hours as a rapid-fire rap. To Zion, her gentle paean to her eldest son, is rendered as a blare of freeform jazz." Meanwhile, the Telegraph was less forgiving. "In the 1990s, as a member of The Fugees and then a solo artist, Hill was behind two of the decade's biggest hip-hop/R&B albums, The Score and The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," the review read. "But what she gave us - sadly - was a 78-minute lesson in how to murder your own best songs. She didn't even kill them softly. Almost every element of hip-hop was wiped from the repertoire in favour of a sort of unrelenting soupy soul-jazz. Source
Oh Inga hunny no.

I'll agree with the author that she's a shell of her former self but let's be honest here and realize that Miseducation still inspires artists today and is often a template for the newer generation of R&B singers. A singer recently did "Ex-Factor" on tour a few weeks ago and Jazmine Sullivan wouldn't be here without her. She'll NEVER be a "flash in the pan" or "washed up" when she has probably the most influential albums since... ever? Her voice is gritty, shows up to concerts late, rants, kicks fans out of concerts, but she always DEMANDS respect and is very visible in the industry today. Who else gets locked up for tax fraud then goes out to sell out concerts big and small. Most careers would have ended long ago. She's at the point now where she doesn't even have to create another album. Her legendary status was sealed August 25, 1998. I understand the author's point but IF Lauryn decides to create a follow-up to Miseducation I'm 100% certain she'll be in line buying it and I'll be right in front of her.

"Finally"? LOL I guess some people are a little slow on the take. It's a real shame about LH, such a gifted artist - beautiful voice, has actual writing skills, acting skills, etc. decides to channel it in another way. It's her life and she can do what she wants. However, the chronically late thing is completely disrespectful to the people funding her lifestyle. If she wants to "really" start a show at 10 or 11, then do so, but don't cop an attitude when the very people who pay your bills are disappointed when she fails to deliver. It just bums me out because LH had the potential to be one of the most impactful voices of the "Zero" decade (and likely beyond). For the record, I believe she was given an amazing skill set - I remember when she played a troubled teen on my mom's soap - As The World Turns - and she stood out. The had a club that catered to 'rap' on the show, which for a conservative show, was quite progressive. She just had "that thing" (pun intended) that said 'star' in the making. The fact that a recurring character stood out when I was barely a casual viewer said something. Anyway, she's still 'young' and has plenty of time to make great music with a message. (Honestly, I don't care which genre she chooses, I just want to hear her voice.)

She showed up 40 mins late to her set at the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans last night, and they cut the mic on her when her time was up.

From a few days ago...........gorgeous, composed, and in great vocal form. If she maintains this standard for a few more months I might be willing to start hoping again.

Im sorry but at this point I am really believing Lauryn's prime at 98 was simply a fluke and that Miseducation was a product of the people she had with her - not her own merit
The bitch has basically spent MORE years being a hot ass mess than a 1st class diva. Im done with her

‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’ To Be Archived In The Library of Congress
Seventeen years after its debut, Lauryn Hill’s classic album The MisEducation of Lauryn Hill is still receiving its justified recognition, this time from the National Recording Registry. It’s been announced, the Grammy-award winning record, which featured classic hits such as “Ex-Factor” and “Lost Ones” will be archived in the Library of Congress for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” Other albums in this year’s selection include Radiohead’s Ok Computer, Joan Baez self-titled record Joan Baez, a 1967 eponymous album from The Doors and Sly and The Family Stone’s 1969 record Stand. Congrats to all the artist, but a special shout out to our girl, Lauryn Hill. www.vibe.com/2015/03/the-miseducation-of-lauryn-hill-library-of-congress

She performed at this random location directly across the street from my apt the night before and night of my housewarming party last weekend! People who hadn't been to my apt saw the valets, lines, and double parking and thought it was my party. . Anyway, it was an acoustic show and of course, she was over 2 hours late but the reviews were pretty good!
