Lauryn Hill Arrives Over 2 Hours Late For French Show / Apologizes After Performing For “Just 32 Minutes”Lauryn Hill may be many things, but punctual isn’t one of them. The iconic songstress’ trademark brand of tardy struck again last night in France and left fans furious. Details below… Currently on the European leg of her ‘MisEducation 20th Anniversary Tour,’ the former Fugees star was set to rock the Accor Hotel Arena in Bercy with a full-bodied show. However, drama struck when the 43-year-old took to the stage 2 and half hours late. Even worse, strict curfew rules meant she performed for less than an hour. Reports are still pouring in, but many fans claim her set ran 32 minutes before being brought to an abrupt end. A similar occurrence is said to have taken place in Brussels the night before, with the singer hitting the stage 1 hour and 40 minutes late and playing for 40 minutes. As has sadly become customary, an apology letter was issued via social media. Hill wrote: Much as we love her, it’s totally deserved. She’s very much at a point where she’s better off showing her professionalism than promising it in letter after jarring letter. At every level, she’s playing herself and her fans. Because even if it were a technical issue, she may need to look at her internal setup to ask why and how it keeps happening. Year after year. Country after country. Tour after tour. Surely, if there any validity to her claim, it’s been long overdue for her to put the people and tools in place to rectify the matter? After all, it’s her name being mopped through the mire. Like, no matter which way it’s diced or sliced, she’s in the wrong. But no more apologies. Do better, be better. thatgrapejuice.net/2018/11/lauryn-hill-arrives-over-2-hours-late-french-show-apology/#ixzz5XZSo0Esl

Anyone buying a Lauryn Hill ticket at this point should know how big of a risk they’re taking. I wouldn’t go for free.

Her daughter was on IG Live talking about how Lauryn would beat her and take out her frustrations with her father on her.

Girl please. My mother as a widow had to raise 4 sons on her own and she did what she needed to do in those days! Lauryn had to beat her for a reason. Kids are annoying af.

Yeah, idk. As a Black male who grew up in the 80s, I just feel like she is describing my childhood PRECISELY, but through a modern, White, Dr.Spock lens. Of course, now we are taught that corporal punishment is child abuse, but I was never hit without reason and, like Selah, I am not telling people I got punched in the face or hit with bricks and what not. I didn't feel I was abused then and I don't feel I was now. Any other news to report on Ms. Hill?

No one in here has any rights to judge whether HER suffering and pain are valid or not. 😉

It’s a generational thing. I would never to my own children. I see this a few ways...we cannot tell people how to feel or how they should deal with their own trauma. Yes, being beat with a belt is generational and most of us experienced it. Many times it's not justified and sometimes boundaries are pushed/crossed. There's a fine line between abuse, consequences and punishment. Selah is brave to me for sharing her experience. Those beatings however, probably weren't the bigger issue...Lauryn was mentally and emotionally exhausted from the industry and her relationship. This ultimately affected the children, without question. I wouldn't beat my own children. I also wouldn't feel comfortable raising children with an in and out father. Dealing with mental illness and raising children isn't easy. People's response to this is so weird. Folks are attacking Selah and/or Lauryn, which serves no purpose. They need to heal and support as a family unit, not be dismissed or villainized.

It says that the video is not available. They re-uploaded it yesterday: This is so good. Regardless of what people think of her, they can’t deny her talent. I wonder what she would have done with Black is King.

Here's Why Lauryn Hill Never Made Another Album After 'Miseducation' By Rania Aniftos 1/5/2021 Click to copy www.billboard.com/articles/news/9507255/lauryn-hill-talks-miseducation/It's been almost 23 years since Lauryn Hill released her beloved, Grammy-winning The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill album, which features classics like “Ex-Factor,” “Doo Wop (That Thing),” and her breezy take on Frankie Valli's "Can't Take My Eyes Off You." However, besides a live 2002 MTV Unplugged No. 2.0 project, the icon never released another studio album, much to the dismay of fans. In a new email interview for Rolling Stone's “500 Greatest Albums” podcast on Amazon Music, the star revealed why. “The wild thing is no one from my label has ever called me and asked how can we help you make another album, EVER…EVER. Did I say ever? Ever!” she explained. “With the Miseducation, there was no precedent. I was, for the most part, free to explore, experiment and express,” she continued. “After the Miseducation, there were scores of tentacled obstructionists, politics, repressing agendas, unrealistic expectations, and saboteurs EVERYWHERE. People had included me in their own narratives of THEIR successes as it pertained to my album, and if this contradicted my experience, I was considered an enemy.” On the album's legacy, Hill shared that she's “always been pretty critical of myself artistically, so of course there are things I hear that could have been done differently but the LOVE in the album, the passion, it’s intention is to me, undeniable." "I think my intention was simply to make something that made my foremothers and forefathers in music and social and political struggle know that someone received what they’d sacrificed to give us, and to let my peers know that we could walk in that truth, proudly and confidently," she added. “At that time, I felt like it was a duty or responsibility to do so. … I challenged the norm and introduced a new standard. I believe the Miseducation did that and I believe I still do this–defy convention when the convention is questionable.” Miseducation hit No. 10 on Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums" list. Incredible and iconic album. Easily the most important album ever since its release.

The best album EVER released PERIOD since the 90s. I bought the vinyl a few years ago for $40 and it was worth every penny.
